Today is the first anniversary of the announcement of All Elite Wrestling as an active promotion, and they're celebrating with an unopposed live episode of Dynamite from their home base - Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida! Even though NXT isn't live this week, I'll still post the link to the discussion rules: officialfan.proboards.com/thread/592137/rules-discussion-weekly-aew-shows
This week's main event is a barnburner, and a match originally scheduled all the way back at Fyter Fest in June 2019, as The Elite band together to take on PAC and the Lucha Brothers. The Young Bucks are still reeling from failing to capture the AEW Tag Team Titles from SCU, and then being attacked by the Dark Order, so they'll need to bounce back opposite Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix. Meanwhile, PAC wants one more match with Kenny Omega, and a win here should enhance his claim to get that match. Which super team comes out on top?
Cody made a shocking announcement a couple of days ago by taking on Arn Anderson as his advisor - a Horseman working with a Rhodes? That won't end well surely? Anyway their first outing together is tonight, as the American Nightmare goes into a Fyter Fest rematch with Darby Allin, both looking to prove who the better man is following their 20 minute time limit draw. Allin says he'd have won if the match went longer - is he right, or will Arn give Cody the edge here? Meanwhile, MJF is looming, and he's due to reveal his stipulations for accepting a singles match with Cody - what will those be?
A few weeks ago, Chris Jericho gave Jon Moxley an offer to join the Inner Circle, purely as a way to squirm out of having to wrestle him for the AEW World Championship. Jericho is expecting his answer tonight, but meanwhile Moxley is in action, taking on TRENT?, who has given top stars problems in the past. Will Mox pass the test, and what answer does he have for Le Champion?
AEW Women's World Champion Riho was getting ready for a singles defence tonight against Kris Statlander, but unfortunately the Alien's spaceship has been diverted to Los Angeles, so her title shot will be next week in the greater Memphis area. Instead of facing the #1 contender, Riho is now in a Fatal Four Way with #2, #3 and #4, as she defends the title against Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Hikaru Shida and Nyla Rose, who's back from her enforced suspension, and goes right into a title shot. Will the little Japanese star escape three threats to her title, and ensure her date with Statlander next week, or will there be a new champion?
The view never changes. That's what Dusty Rhodes famously told Dustin about followers, and now The Natural gets to teach that lesson to the Inner Circle's young boy Sammy Guevara. Dustin is especially aggrieved that Guevara merely hung around and vlogged Jake Hager's attack on his arm, rather than actually doing anything in the attack, and Rhodes' bid to get revenge on the Inner Circle starts with him. Will the lesson successfully be taught?
All this and plenty more in the first episode of Dynamite in 2020, tonight from 8/7c on TNT in the US, TSN in Canada and FITE TV worldwide!
