So I caught this a couple of days ago. I plan to write a more detailed FAN review but overall, I thought it was pretty fun. It's definitely A24's vision of how they'd make an Adam Sandler film.
His fight with The Weeknd is funny but it needed more time. I was hoping for an epic Bob Barker-style brawl.
Also, Kevin Garnett should do more movies. Anyone else seen it?

It was alright; more proof Sandler can act when he wants to, though I feel he's getting a little too much praise. He's good in it, but people are acting like this otherworldly performance and it's not. It's like the world is so used to him only being an angry manchild with a funny accent they grade on a curve for him.
Movie itself is good mostly, though the sound design was a puzzler. That music they start out with for the first five minutes that does not stop that entire first scene was annoying as hell.

I thought this would be about Lars Sullivan's long awaited return to porn.

I really liked it. Sandler was great and deserves his praise. I could see why some would say the praise is overblown, but to me he deserves it because I really don’t know who could have played that character with what I think the directors wanted. What I mean is, that for all purposes, Sandler’s character is not a good person. Makes bad decision after bad decision, keeps getting into trouble, keeps secrets, uses people etc. Yet Sandler brings his charm that makes you care and worry for a character you should want to see get his comeuppance. But while watching the film, you’ll find that you want things to work out for him. Not really sure who else could have pulled that off

Thinking about checking it out. I've listened to the soundtrack, it's really good.

Loved it. Best fantasy movie I've seen in years. Dead serious. They even drop tons of hints about their apparent inspiration throughout the film. For example: {Spoiler}"It's some 'Middle Earth' shit!"

Damn, that was one chaotic ass movie. I liked it, but I feel it’s one of those flicks better suited for a home watch rather than a movie theatre.

That was my biggest takeaway after finishing the movie. I turned to my wife and said this is easily Top 10, possibly Top 5.

I loved it. Might be my favorite of last year. Sleazy, weird characters are a cheat code to my heart in all fairness

Loved it. It’s an intense film where I so rarely felt comfortable. Can’t think of the last time a movie had me so on edge.

I heard the Sports Pope was pretty good in it, considering he's never really acted before.

I too liked it, and the music made me want to watch Tron Legacy.
I hate Adam Sandler movies, and I actually hate him even more for reminding us he can be damn good when he wants to be.

Went to it again tonight with a friend. It’s just so good. There’s so much to think about where things could have ended different if Howard wasn’t such an ass. A dude in the theater actually yelled “F*** yeah” after the ending and the rest of the crowd was buzzing. People audiably gasped when he got shot. I’m really glad it’s drawing visceral reactions from people.

Sandlers acting was top notch , but for me this was a bit weird - I was thinking to myself the whole movie if Im suppose to be rooting for this scumbag

Sandlers acting was top notch , but for me this was a bit weird - I was thinking to myself the whole movie if Im suppose to be rooting for this scumbag That's part of what makes it so great. {Spoiler}When it starts he seems like an underdog, then it shifts to anti-hero, then it shifts to scumbag, then it shifts to scumbag seemingly growing a conscious and trying to do what's right, and ultimately scumbag. And Sandler's performance is the straw that stirs the drink here because he makes the guy seem charismatic and affable despite being {Spoiler} a powder-keg of manipulation and deceit putting everyone in his life in danger with no sense of responsibility of self-awareness .

I've heard of this movie. Everyone says it's good.... But I just can't muster the energy to support it.
Mostly because I feel this movie is a case of 'Too little, too late' for me to forgive Adam for the last 15+ years of utter crap he has produced.
