Bothe Edge and Christian. It's a damn shame they had to retire because of injuries, but they never became parodies of what they once were. If you believe the rumors going around Edge just might get that opportunity to become a parody of what he once was. As a fan of his for the good of his own Legacy, Health and family I hope he stays retired.

Val Venis quietly bowed out of the industry to become a cannabis sellsman. I'm not too sure that's what the OP had in mind with this thread. I'm glad Val is doing well post wrestling but he became an out of shape jobber on Heat for the last few years of his WWE run then he went to TNA where he beat Christopher Daniels on ppv to the enjoyment of absolutely nobody simply because Hogan Knows Best, BROTHER!!!

Booker T and JBL stopped when they could still go to become commentators

Shawn Michaels got out as soon as he knew that he was past the point of peaking. Let's just ignore Crown Jewel and pretend that never happened. Didn't watch that match live and after seeing what people in here and elsewhere said about it.... I refuse to ever watch it. I refuse to believe Michaels does anything but put on top flight matches all the way to the end of in-ring career. That match will not ruin what I've seen and thus, my opinion. LOL

Jericho is what happens when you have a very talented guy who is actually allowed (and willing to take) long periods of rest. If WWE knew how to build true stars, there is no reason why they couldn't do this in some sort of rotation with their top stars. A year on, 6 months off or something like that. They have enough people on the roster to do it.... but they haven't built the talent up well enough to do it.

Steve Austin. His run in 2002 was pretty stale and he seemed pretty out of place, but when he retired he was still an icon and massively over. I don't know if he's technically retired, but I'd definitely say The Rock as well. William Regal is retired, right? He was great all the way to his last run. I wouldn't count the Rock, his last few matches were embarrassing. Dude was clearly winded, and sweating like Shane McMahon.

They weren't great matches but he got through them fine and he still looked like The Rock. Same as Batista against Triple H this year, clearly long past his best but not embarrassing. It's not like Shawn Michaels at Crown Jewel looking really really old and bald, or Undertaker almost killing himself against Goldberg.

Val Venis quietly bowed out of the industry to become a cannabis sellsman. Damn! As someone who works in said industry, that's hella cool!!!
