I think it's finally Naito's time. There's basically no reason to be doing this with the structure it's had otherwise and really I don't know where you go with either one of them as a character if Okada wins.

I could see it going either way. I feel if they're really trying to like totally hammer home that Okada's the best of all time, then it's Okada. I don't know who you build up to take the title from him, then. Naito, to me, is the option that is more sensible.

Speaking as a massive fan of both, I dunno how Okada can win this without either a heel turn or a huge backlash that’d push him into at least the tweener territory.
This is Naito’s third chance at the Heavyweight title in the Dome, so it makes too much sense for him to get the win here and complete his arc, similar to how Okada was finally able to put away Tanahashi at WK10 in his third attempt.

Okada is the greatest wrestler of all time and I hope he cements it against Naito.

Okada is the greatest wrestler of all time and I hope he cements it against Naito. That three year reign where he basically eclipsed almost all Tana marks says otherwise

Naito. NJPW has a picture perfect opportunity in their hands and it is finally time to finish the story. Naito needs to beat Okada at WK to have his legacy fulfilled and it would be fitting that his two IWGP title reigns have come against Okada if he wins. His 1st title reign almost doesn't even count since he never got a proper run with it so assuming he wins this caps off Naito story and basically completes his legacy

It's been a long time coming for Naito. So I really want him to leave as double champion.
But it's Okada. In The Dome. Betting against that is like betting against prime-era Cena. Not a smart move.
I want Naito to win. But, based on past booking, I wouldn't be shocked if they give it to Okada.

This has that Rock/Austin feel to it In this case, everything is on the line in the 3rd match with the titles but also the respect and putting the period on a legacy is a big factor. The last time we may get these two in this setting in their prime (at least for Naito)

NJPW loves to do trilogies and this is all too reminisent of Okada and Tana where Okada kept failing but I think the 3rd time he finally beats the greatest head of hair in all of history in the dome.
I felt NJPW made a huge misstep when they did not give Naito the belt I think it was the year before last I forget at WK and now they are getting a second chance to rectify the mistake and also hopefully this is not just...Naito gets his dome moment sorry but belt back to Okada a month of two later.

My logical brain says that there's no way they could possibly trip at the finish line and have Naito lose yet again.
My reptile brain fears that Gedo yanks the rug out from Naito and fans yet again, because Naito killed his dog or something.
