I've always been a huge mark for Jericho's work, he's always been one of my all time favourite wrestlers and he's one of those rare things, an older wrestler who's just as entertaining in the ring as he was in his prime, even if he can't do as much in the ring.
I just love how he's every midlife crisis experienced by a middle aged man all rolled into one; like, he knows how uncool he is and yet he struts around with his younger crew of guys and basically saying how he's 'Down with the kids'. AEW, for me, has a lot of positives and one of the biggest is a middle aged Canadian rockstar with a dad bod and some really unflattering tights.
It seems like he's still got that old WCW heel mantra, when he was a heel in WCW, he wasn't interested in being the cool heel who was intimidated by nothing and nobody, he wanted to be a chickenshit blowhard and I'm so happy that he's not gone the same avenue that Hogan went down in the NWO when he just buried all the younger guys to put himself over.

Last year's stuff is some of the best stuff Jericho has ever had. Great champion. No breaks or bunch of meaningless filler opponents. -> Only runs that quickly comess to mind that've been this good were probably AmDrag and McGuinness ROH world title reigns...

This is actually what Brock Lesnar's title reigns really should be in their execution. Jericho doesn't wrestle on Dynamite every week, but his presence is felt on every single show, and when Chris does lace the boots, it's always a really big deal when he does and it's usually promoted well in advance.

Jericho's doing better work now than he ever has.
I really like Hangman Page, and I was rooting for him, but Jericho has been a tremendous first champion on many levels.

The segment with SCU was probably the one that most defined this present day Jericho.
If his ego wasn’t so big, he’d have seen through Frankie and Chris luring him into a world title match the next week but the dude thinks so highly of himself, someone even thinking he isn’t “Le Champion” or worthy to be on Dynamite to face him in a match, he pretty much fell for it hook line and sinker.
Dude’s made me laugh intentionally at wrestling the most on a week by week basis than anyone else right now and a lot of people have made me laugh at shows the past few years alone.

Credit where it’s due, one of Jericho’s consistent strengths has been adapting for each stage of his career. He’s still a pretty good hand in the ring, thanks to not suffering too many really serious injuries throughout his career, but with age and wear he has shifted to a more character driven mode. It’s kept his act fresh.

He's always reinventing himself. He's like Madonna, only without the plagiarism and cultural appropriation.

Jericho said in an interview after wrestle kingdom that his jaw was dislocated and knee is swollen and needs to be looked at.

Not every incarnation of Jericho's hit for me as well as others have, but there's no denying his talent and his smarts when it comes to how wrestling should be booked. Pretty much since the dawn of the SaveUs return (and how that fed directly into the business suits heel Jericho era) Jericho's been putting in work in his mannerisms, his promos, and even his matches (and moveset) to make a strong case for him to be the most versatile wrestler of all time. Every version of Jericho is a transformation akin more to a method actor taking on a new role than necessarily a simple shift in his gimmick like many undergo in wrestling.
It's been said a million times how important Jericho has been to wrestling for the last two decades, so much so that I know some people get tired of hearing about it or have knee jerked into feeling he's overrated these days, but I really think as time moves on and as wrestling gets further and further away from his career (once he retires) people will look back on him and point to him as an anomaly in wrestling and as an important figure & influence of it. It's partially why some of the things he says now in his Midlife Crisis gimmick work so well, because there's a slither of truth to it when he calls himself a trail blazer and an innovator and all manner of things.

The best gimmicks are often the wrestler's real life persona turned up to 11, so no wonder the opinionated party dad carny from Fozzy is nailing this.

Jericho said in an interview after wrestle kingdom that his jaw was dislocated and knee is swollen and needs to be looked at. Could he be losing the title to Moxley sooner than expected?
