Bundy fell dramatically after his Hogan feud to the point that he was in a six man dwarf match at the next WM. Bobby didn’t even accompany Bundy to that match. I just saw a clip a moment ago where Bundy lost to Bam Bam Bigelow and Gorilla asked Bobby about not showing up until towards the end of the match.
I’m thinking this was around the same time as the briefly teased Kamala feud.
I don’t think fans would have bought a face Bundy anyway, but were they really considering this?
How would you have booked it?

During WrestleMania 3 Heenan did commentary during the Rougeaus-Dream Team match. When Monsoon mentioned that Bundy lost his match, Heenan replied "That match had nothing to do with me!". It is possible that a Bundy face turn was being considered.

Toward the end of '86, they had been doing the "he accidentally hit his own partner" spots to tease a Bundy vs. John Studd feud. It's possible they had something new planned for Bundy there that got shelved when Studd quit. He was a funny guy and could have roasted some heels on the mic. On the other hand, if someone was going to be the face against Heenan at that point, I would think it would've been Studd.
I wouldn't read too much into Heenan not being at ringside for Bundy at WM3. The story of that show was that Heenan was confident he was going to be managing the world champion after the main event, so standing around for Bundy's midget match would have been beneath him.

He was there for Hercules and Harley's matches. The Bundy match was immediately between those two, so I'm figuring they just held him back on this one because they didn't want Heenan out there three matches in a row.

They were also showing interviews with Bundy if he ever collided with Kamala around this time but it never went anywhere.

Bundy and Studd to this day are my fav tag team of all time. But I think a feud between the 2 back then would of been kind of fun . Bundy was one of the cool heels to a ton of people really liked so him going face would have worked.
