With all due respect, it's a forgettable return for a guy who made his bones during a pretty forgettable era in WWE. I wonder if any of those lost superstars from the 2005-2011 range would really resonate with today's fans or garner much of a reaction, people like Evan Bourne, MVP, Mr. Kennedy, Carlito, Vladimir Kozlov, Tyler Reks, or Alex Riley. Would they really get much of anything beyond a cursory "Hey, we remember you!" response before the audience goes back to staring at their phones?

WWE also brought him in the same night Sheamus & The Uso’s came back. Could they not have waited a week? The Rumble is literally a few weeks away...like why waste an awesome guest return Rumble spot when you can just have him show up backstage? My thoughts exactly.

It's insulting to lump him in with guys like Tyler Reks who were over as a fart in an elevator due to being dull and the WWE not giving a damn. He was over in the same way guys like Cody were, and suffered from the same glass ceiling because they didn't see him as much more than a tag or IC level guy no matter how hard he worked. Like Cody he worked hard so had a fairly successful Indy run and was a big deal in Lucha Underground. If fans recognise and react to the debut of other guys who were big deals in the indies or Mexico in the past few years, they'd react to JoMo if the WWE were willing to make the effort with his debut, but here we are... Another crap debut for a guy they've signed just to make sure they can't be used elsewhere.

John Morrison has gone through just about every company in wrestling. Hardcore fans know him. Indy fans know him. Casual fans know him. Social media fans know him. John Morrison isn't a relic. If his music hit at the Rumble, there would be a big ass pop.

That mnm theme got bigger reactions I think the miz showed why he was better in every facet Morrisons music in WWE not counting the MNM theme is too low key he needs something new with energy and Miz is in no way better than Morrison especially now. Meh i think miz is better as a character and somebody i enjoy seeing get wrecked

Rough start, but soon he'll be parkouring into our hearts once again.
People still parkour, right?

Johnny Mundo has held indy scene by the balls, he was the biggest independent name in the US for few years. I myself think he is the best all-rounder in the US business right now. Not surprised how irrelevant he seems in WWE once again. What I'm surprised about now is AJ Styles, who held his back to get such a hot debut and belt asap?

It’s amazing to me when they do these things. Have him run in to save Miz during the Rumble as a mystery entrant.

Kinda surprised they didn't save this return for a random rumble entry.

A bit bummed we won't be getting a Morrison vs. Velveteen Dream feud, at least for now.
How has Morrison's promo work been in his time away? I know when he left he talked about going to acting classes to work on that.

I know when he left he talked about going to acting classes to work on that. So mnuch better. It helps that the material was clearly catered to his character....overly arrogant , and fully of hollywood level cheese. I have said it before about him...Morrison is a guy who excells when the person crafting his stuff knows exactly how to write for him...but when left to his own devices most of the time well you get his 2011 run.

The Rumble is literally a few weeks away...like why waste an awesome guest return Rumble spot when you can just have him show up backstage? It's one of those microcosms of WWE logic. The only benefit is if they use the time to hype his elimination escapes alongside Kofi's and they have an escape off.

He was always way better at pre tape stuff as well. Give him a script and a live mic and he tends to struggle. Even at the height of the Dirt Sheet, he was usually a pretty terrible live promo despite being ridiculously entertaining on Dirt Sheet.
