OK, we all know that after the "fire incident," the characters underwent a shift of tone. Which do you prefer?

The characters themselves were funnier, but the earlier episodes did have a more "cartoony" animation style, lots of squash and stretch that was sadly missing from the later ones.

I like the more 'refined' versions better as they have the better and funnier voices.
The earlier versions have weird and generic vocies.

Anything that isn't the music videos is unwatchable to me at this point.

I liked their funny escapades. Not a fan of the early stuff at all.

It's weird because either way when you take one element out it doesn't work as well. The DVDs just have episodes minus videos and it doesn't quite work the same way since the show was meant to be chaotic in its presentation. But then when you have just videos it's a bit aimless since you don't get the actual episode with characters. You need both, which is why the 2011 reboot didn't quite pan out since MTV doesn't show enough videos now and I didn't need commentary on Jersey Shore episodes. The actual episodes themselves in 2011 were still hilarious though. I especially bust a gut watching the one where they tried to open the Asian massage parlor in the mall.
I voted the latter here, but truth be told I am now so hazy on the earliest episodes I'd need to see them again. They just aren't out there. Anyone know where to find?

My parents (mostly my grandmother, who was the final word in the household) actually didn’t like me watching B&B early on during the frog baseball and fire stuff, so I started watching around the third or fourth season when they were two dweebs failing to pick up chicks . I prefer those episodes, not just because Mike Judge’s sense of humor has sharpened (there’s a clear difference in the duo’s wit and timing from their early music videos on), but also the animation is a hundred times improved.
