A lot of the negative things said about Gervais here is accurate, but that does not mean he is wrong.

Won’t soneone think of the chi-..ridiculously rich celebrities. While it is true that most celebrities are up their own asses, let us not let this fact deter us from the other fact that Ricky Gervais f***ing sucks. The man would make a middle school boy tell him to turn down the edge-lord dial. I like him as a stand up. That’s the extent of it. And on this night he made fun of a bunch of obnoxious ivory tower living jackasses. Whose majority work I also enjoy, and again, that’s the extent of it. On account of the whole Hollywood’s a cesspool thing.

I dislike Gervais, but there were parts of his speech I did smile at. Probably my favorite was him calling attention to the fact that nearly ALL male superhero actors are obviously on the juice ("Do we have a category for most ripped junkie?"). It does piss me off to see guys like Evans, Cavill and Hemsworth on the cover of "Men's Health", accompanied by fawning articles that prescribe an official workout routine. Whatever your feelings on steroids, the dishonesty on display there is appalling, and I'm glad Gervais gave it at least a partial skewer. It's an issue that should be called out far more often than it is.
