So AEW will eventually introduce a secondary men's singles belt. Probably in the coming months. Who do you want to see as the inaugural holder of the AEW #2 title

I’ll say give it to Cody after beating MJF in a tournament final (MJF wins their match at Revolution to make this work) and to lose to Darby Allin or MJF wins, becomes a dickhead champion to eventually lose to Darby Allin.
Basically whatever happens, Darby get a big win for that title and makes it a big deal long term.

I'll preface this by saying if they introduce a secondary title, it needs to have some sort of stipulation to it that makes it more than just a belt below the world title. It could be as simple as a TV Title with shorter time limits which does pose a different sort of competitive aspect vs. a world title with sixty minute time limits. I would definitely have Cody win it first to establish it and then have him drop it to Darby.

I'd love to see a TV title that's defended every week on TV with a 10 minute time limit.

I mean difficult to say but I’m inclined to say Darby. A face ridiculously over who they probably don’t want near the main title as of yet.

Cody wins it and Darby finally beats him to win it off him.

cody makes the most sense as he's said he doesn't want it to be seen as a "midcard" title and cody is out of the world title picture (until he turns heel and changes his mind because he can) so him being the first whatever champ puts it on one of their biggest names in the singles division (him, omega, Jericho IMO- no particular (dark)order) means they're serious about it being important
like salz4life I would love to see a TV title defended weekly as the new title. give whoever has it the title of "best wrestler on television today" accolade vs the world champ being "the best wrestler in the world" as he would seldom defend the world title on TV but the tv champ ensures a televised title match every week.
maybe they do something where after X successful title defenses, the TV champ gets a shot at the world title "I've proven I can beat anyone on tv, now I want to prove I can beat anyone in the world" though this would give the tv title a bit of a secondary feel to it so maybe not. unless the world champ actively seeks to challenge for the tv title as well "i'm the best wrestler in the world and now i'm going to show everyone each and every week I can beat anyone they send at me on television too." but whoever2belts should be something for 5 years down the road or so in order to establish both singles titles under their own identity

I feel Arn Anderson being brought in makes sense for it to be a TV title. I imagine them calling it the Arn Anderson TV title, and you think Cody is winning, but Darby wins after some heel thing. Or MJF. But I do think a Cody tv run would be fun.

I like the tv title idea, and I also like the idea of an "extreme" title. It would be an excuse for guys like Jimmy Havoc, Darby Allin, Jon Moxley, etc. to show off their hardcore skills without having to come up with stipulation matches for every feud they are in.

I enjoy the hardcore matches every now and again but I've never been much on having a title built around them. Instead of using hardcore matches to continue or blow off a feud they force the contestants into them. A TV title would be pretty sick, as would some type of US title. I always dug when top tier guys like Hall or Hennig n WCW would win the US title, just made it seem so much more important and it elevated everyone else around them that was vying for it.

A Midcard belt is definitely something I see happening to help out a lot of wrestlers currently with nothing to do, the idea of it being Cody winning, and losing to Darby or MJF and then MJF losing to Darby is something I wouldn't mind at all.
Also feel like having a midcard belt would help expand the roster more just in general

A TV title, maybe they could call it the Dynamite Title if they don't want to piggyback off of past title names, would be good. I'd go with monthly or bimonthly defense, rather than weekly, if they did want to impose a certain amount of mandatory defenses, just because you don't want it to wear thing, though Dark also probably would help alleviate that a bit.

I'd a looooot rather just have a standard midcard belt than a TV title. Really no matter what you do it's going to mean less than the World title (see also how for all their talk about the other belts being equal, the women are treated as the most disposable part of the show and Scorpio was pretty much acting like the tag titles mean nothing in talking about how the World title shot he got was his first major opportunity) so might as well just have a belt that's straightforward rather than trying to gimmick it up.
And really with only one AEW show a week (that matters) I'd really prefer to not have to devote a length of time out of the show to the same thing every single week.

I’d like a secondary belt to be like either the current X-Division title or the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods - a belt that’s explicitly a stepping stone to the world title. Give it a gimmick like “after X number of defenses, you can vacate the belt in exchange for a world title shot.”

I'd like something that could be defended on either Dynamite or Dark. Hype up a Dark main event defense maybe.
Also, I'm throwing Sammy Guevara's name in the ring.

I like the AEW Dynamite title idea.
Unique time limit.
Can only be defended on Dynamite (Acts like a TV title).
Maybe another stipulation or two around it to make it more interesting.
