He could win and it gives us the possibility a very avant-garde match at Wrestlemania where Brock Lesnar has to defend his WWE Championship against himself.

I think people should give more some of that love for Blesnar.

Only positive I can think of is if they could make a new star by having them eliminate Brock. Instead what we'll probably get is Brock burying everyone for the first half where he tosses everyone in short order and then meanders around the ring like a jack ass in between before we get the "put through the announce table take a nap" spot and then at the end he comes back in and either wins it or gets eliminated by last by Roman, the one guy in the match who gains nothing from eliminating him.
The Rumble has always been my favorite match but the announcement of Brock being number 1 has pretty much killed all my interest and anticipation for it. They've pretty much ruined everything else so I guess it was just a matter of time before they ruined the Royal Rumble too. Hopefully the women's one makes up for it but I'm also kind of skeptical of that match too for various reasons (depleted roster due to injuries, lack of size and turnover with the roster which means where just keep getting the same people we've got the last two years)

Having seen the past five years of WWE programming I have zero faith that the execution on Brock in the rumble will be in any way something like people are excited to spculate about it benig here. It's going to be the same old song and dance.

It's going to be the same old song and dance. That's the thing, though. There's like 2-3 songs and dances that could happen with it being Brock, which... isn't exciting, per se, but does leave room to guess. Powers through the whole Rumble is possible, albeit very unlikely. Is eliminated by a rival like when Goldberg f***ed him over, more likely. Roman or Cain, for example. Maybe some "Brock being uncharacteristically generous" bit where someone less likely throws him out. Kofi in a way-too-late damage control, someone he just feels like making look good like he did with Balor for their mini-feud, etc. It's all stuff we've seen from Brock before, none of this would be especially new, but some of his Brock-isms contradict each other here, so it can't really be something where we point at one as the obvious answer, since he's done a few of these things before.

The only way I can see this being anything other than a means of f***ing over the entire roster, so that they can justify Cain vs. Lesnar for the title, is if it is announced at some point in the build that Lesnar will be defending the title in the match.

I'd like to see Big E eliminate him just to really propel him to new heights
