If you had a choice for a title all the midcarders chase, which one would you pick?
Continue with the Universal title?
Or build up the Intercontinental title once again?

The IC title has always been my favorite. Those matches would steal the show. It's sad what it's become.
When was the last time it REALLY felt like a big deal? I would say Orton, but it might go back even further.

Erm. The Universal title is the main Smackdown title at the moment (however piss-poorly it's being booked at the moment with the Fiend/Bray Wyatt holding it.)
If WWE is so hellbent on a steady, long-term Universal champ (such a champ should be a face for it to work, by the way), then the I-C title should be the one that is up for grabs as often as possible and its holder should be under the gun the entire time. That none of the titles at the moment are being contested with any regularity or consistent booking is a very strong reason why WWE's ratings and everything else are in decline. Your champions should be out there defending, giving promos, doing PR work, whatever you need them to do to look like they are important and like your product has meaning.

The Universal title has been cursed since day one, it was unveiled to boos from the crowd and then the first champion was seriously injured and had to vacate it less than 24 hours later.
If the WWE just quietly stopped using that horrible red belt and brought back big Gold would anyone really be upset?
I voted for the IC title.

A belt representing two continents shouldn’t outrank a belt representing the entire universe (presumably), or at the very least, the whole world.

I honestly did think Seth was on his way to establishing it as important again during his first run, until they had Dolph beat him for it.

Technically it’s the WWE Universe so it only represents the planets of Stamford, Azelea Park and wherever that India office is. So it’s likely outranked by the continents of North and South America, the United States, the entire gender of women, everyone who weighs under 205 lbs and the ongoing concept of time.

Not with that attitude!

My preferred system is world>IC>US
it's just dawned on me that NJPW has the exact same titles in the exact same order WWE had during the supershow era

The Intercontinental title at one time meant something, and was the focal point of many historical moments in WWE history.
Now all belts in the WWE are just things that some entertainers carry around for a bit, before getting passed around. You can create all the new belts you want and call them whatever sounds cool, but at the end of the day it is an inanimate, fictional prop. It is up to the creators to give it meaning and weight, so the audience is aware why it is important and what it means to the characters fighting over it.

It's now a horrible blue belt. (:

The IC
A company should never have two world titles.
