I know AEW really doesn't want to do DQs.
But, there's still a feeling of there's no rules.
That women's match was ridiculous.
In previous weeks, Orange Cassidy blatantly gets in the ring and there's no repercussion.
We need some kind of baseline on what the limit is.

Agreed. I mean for a while the, for lack of a better way to put it, 'cowboy shit' was cool. I like a run in as much as the next fan but now it's just...hard to follow I guess?

My first inclination is to not totally agree, but yeah, given some of the "blind ref" spots and botches AEW's had, it might be needed.
Given how much NJPW I watch, I can safely say that I don't mind at all how few DQs there are in that promotion, or how much leeway refs will give to start 20 counts on the floor. It's a directive the company gave after years and years of screwy finishes near the end of Inoki's time in charge, and for me, personally, it works: let the wrestlers settle things, and as long as they're not doing something like bashing someone over the head with a chair in the middle of the ring, just give some minor penalties here and there (e.g. Red Shoes not counting a pin if you're doing it off some dirty moves outside the ring).
However, yeah...that was too much, can't tell me the ref didn't see how far that went. Don't have refs get trigger happy with DQs or whatever, but don't make them look like idiots, either.

Yeah, AEW's level of aversion to DQs is just absurd at this point. A lot of the problems with that women's match tonight would've been solved if it was just a double-DQ.

The ref legit counted to 8 when Page was illegally in the ring and both members of private party had been in even longer.

After tonight it definitely needs to be addressed, I was legit stunned that the match was still going on between Riho and Statlander by that point. I get not wanting a Title Match to end on DQ, I admire that, but like... THEN THROW NIGHTMARE COLLECTIVE OUT YOU IDIOT.

100% agreed. NJPW only do a couple DQ’s a year, but it’s at least established that DQ’s can actually happen. AEW needs to establish the same, otherwise why the f*** aren’t people just blatantly beating the shit out their opponent with a chair or bat.
Also it makes Lights Out matches seem more special.

Yeah, this was the worst time. Not going to be surprised if something happens like when Jericho chewed out the tag teams and there's a big meeting, either with the wrestlers or road agents.

There’s a middle ground between WWE using DQs as a get-out-of-booking-free card and AEW not using them at all and making your matches look like a complete lawless rabble.

Don't quote me on this, but I think commentary has said they use a 10 count for partners entering the ring, rather than the traditional 5 count. Still needs to tighten up, though.

I feel that referees should call out wrestlers who cheats in their match.
For example, last week Dustin Rhodes vs Sammy Guevara where Hager clearly kicked him the balls and the ref still made the count.
Come on now, he was and well and Dustin decides to throw a match away like that while still selling that he got kicked in the nuts? The ref should have the balls to replay the match on the tron and disqualify Sammy.
