He wrote The Graduate and Heaven Can Wait. He co-created Get Smart with Mel Brooks. He helped adapt Catch-22 to film. He played Tina Fey's dad on 30 Rock. And he was often witness to John Belushi's Samurai on the earliest days of SNL, hosting the show 10 times in its first 5 seasons. He died overnight at age 89. That’s a shame. Been watching a lot of 70’s era SNL lately, Buck Henry is damn entertaining on there, but that’s the only thing I’ve ever really seen him in.

That’s a shame. Been watching a lot of 70’s era SNL lately, Buck Henry is damn entertaining on there, but that’s the only thing I’ve ever really seen him in. Same here...I only remember him from watching the original years of SNL. He was damn funny on there. RIP.
