Two of my favorite shows from my youth, Facts of Life and Punky Brewster. And two of my favorite characters the snobby Blair and Margaus, I am going to compare as characters. So keep your dirty minds to yourselves, ha ha.
I am not sure if it is fair to compare them, they are very different in terms of ages of the characters and their roles. Blair was an older teenager to young adult during her run, while Margaus went from pre teen kid to young teenager. I am not even sure in the last season that Punky and the gang were as old as Blair was in first season of Facts of Life.
Also the roles were different. Facts of Life was an esumble show, and Blair was one of the main characters of this esumble, while Punky Brewster was a show that Punky as the only main character and everyone else was a supporting characters, which the amount of screen time and character spotlight episodes, and characters development that Margaus coud get compared to Blair.
Though their development is similar is when they started they weren't snobby rich girl played for comedic effect, they were actually antagonist and the character softing up to just being a harmless snobby girl. Blair more quickly, it was only the Facts of Life back door pilot episode of Diff'rent Strokes "The Girl's School" and the first episode of the series proper "Rough Housing", that she is a antagonist before her character soften. Margaus on the other hand, the whole first season of Margaus most of the episode she is in she is an antagonist. She told Punky that adopted kids aren't as loved as kids that aren't adopted for example.
They do the same direction of these characters. Though Margaus didn't have a tom boy in her own life to keep her in line.
I don't know as far as characters I think Blair win, but as actresses I take Ami Foster's career over Lisa Whelchel. They are both very funny, though I do feel Blair has more depth to her character, but than again I think that is because she is a main character, not to mention Facts of Life lasted twice as many seasons as Punky Brewster.
