So I'm sure there's a good amount of you on here that have played Super Mario Bros. at least once in your life, meaning even if you haven't beaten the game you have experienced World 1-1.
In that game, while simple in its "get to the end" goal, there are still two paths you can take to get to the end.
The first is the straight ahead path, where you just continue to go to the right, eventually able if you're careful enough fully powered up to Fire Mario (or Luigi in 2-Player mode) and get your first taste of the Sharman.
The other path is going down the first pipe you are able to go down, grabbing a bunch of coins, and skipping most of the level in the process (and there's a fun glitch where you can walk off the pipe and doing a floating bounce on the Goombas, something not taken out of the All-Stars version). Sure, you're not fully powered up starting 1-2, but that's a minor thing.
So, which path do you go through? I personally like taking the pipe (and the hidden 1-Up near it), but I am curious to see the ratio.
Mostly unrelated side-note, I love Luigi's unique sprites for the version of Super Mario World included in the All-Stars plus World cart.

Straight ahead. You always get your first 1up.

Whoa, I didn't know they updated/changed his sprite(s) for the SMA+W version of SMW- cool! Yeah, it really fits better with the All-Star versions of the 8-Bit games. The GBA port had a whole different set for Luigi, and gave him his "Luigi Traits". Straight ahead. You always get your first 1up. You can with the first pipe method too. Just don't scroll too far, grab the hidden 1-Up, down the pipe and you're golden.

Used to take the pipe. But as I want to power up/get the 1-Up AFTER said pipe, etc...I tend to go all the way.

I tend to run straight through.
