Either that or something crazy that happens in the future. Maybe once we find out more about the world, shit maybe Kaido stops all this bullshit and forces people to fight in a tourney? Maybe the WG idk lol. It’s possible. Hell, even a story where they get stuck on an island and can’t leave until they beat everyone. You know that’s right up Luffy alley We can then finally get that long awaited Luffy/Zoro fight that they teased back on Whiskey Peak. Who knows.

Yea, I was actually thinking about that What if they brainwash Luffy or Zoro and they are forced to fight. Would be cliche as f*** but who doesn't want to see that fight? I'd actually have Zoro beat Luffy too

This was big when I was in elementary school. Funny story, which I've probably told too many times here at this point. Early on... well, basically, it was dubbed in Filipino, since it was years before subs were commonplace, especially on TV. Anyway, the dubbers did a whoopsie. Early on the show, just when Kurama was introduced... well, the voice acting people thought he was a she, and so her dub name was Denise. Of course, they found out later, and when Kurama came back they sort of handwaved it so he was back to being male, dub name Dennis.
In general, most of the names of the protagonists and their supporting characters were renamed, though the villains for most part kept their names. Toguro was Toguro, Sensui was Sensui, Yuusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei became Eugene, Alfred, Den(ise)nis, and Vincent. Yu Yu Hakusho was renamed as Ghost Fighter.
Still, as silly as that sounds, I still have fond memories of it. It aired every weekday, (it aired before but when it aired again five times per week was I think the most memorable) and you bet your ass that so many kids watched it. Funny, with it airing from Monday to Friday, that meant the show more or less didn't last a year, but it felt much longer than that.
Hell, even now, for most part I mentally refer to the show in its dubbed names.

Just doesn't sound like a name you'd give to a fightin' main character. Not like I'd know that it wasn't the actual name back when I watched it then, so I just accepted that fact. Don't even remember if his last name was ever mentioned.

A refreshing change is that the tournament matches didn't drag on and last ten or more episodes like The Chunin Exams

That's a fact, it shows that while Luffy is strong we always known Zoro is that dude if he really wants to turn up and also somewhat keeps up his promise of never losing since Mihawk waxed him

My all time favorite anime arc. Just perfect storytelling that made each protagonist develop naturally

Another anime I'd like to rewatch some day. I’d highly recommend it. My partner and I have been re-watching (watching for the first time in her case) and it still holds up, this arc in particular

While I did enjoy YuYu Hakusho, I felt the first two of the "The Number One Under Heaven Martial Arts Gathering" in Dragon Ball were amazing.
I love the BGM on that second video.
