I thought about putting this in the AEW forum but All In wasn't exactly any promotion so I guess it belongs here. Anyway I started thinking about All In tonight and how truly unique that PPV was. It's easy to look at it as the jump start for AEW as a promotion, but looking at the card it is really wild where everyone in it is today. Let's consider it:
--SCU vs. Briscoes in the preshow match. SCU are now in AEW, Briscoes are still with ROH. At the time everyone was ROH.
--I won't review the entire battle royal but Flip Gordon is still with ROH. Various people in it are now either in Impact or AEW. Some ROH.
--Matt Cross and MJF. Cross won this match but isn't really full time with any of these promotions (he was on the NWA PPV the other night). MJF is obviously now with AEW getting a major push.
--Daniels is now with AEW. Stephen Amell just wrapped up Arrow for good. Who knows what his wrestling future might be?
--In the women's 3 way Tessa Blanchard won and is now the Impact World Champion (!). Chelsea Green was signed recently by NXT. Madison Rayne is back in Impact. Britt Baker is in AEW.
--Cody of course is a key guy in AEW now, while Aldis regained the NWA title soon after and is still the champion there.
--Hangman Page, Joey Janela, and Penelope Ford are all in AEW. Joey Ryan came out post match and he is now with Impact.
--Jay Lethal and Flip Gordon are both still with ROH, so this one could still happen. Both guys are heels now though.
--Omega and Pentagon are both now in AEW so this could happen again, but at the time it was the IWGP champion vs. an Impact/AAA/Wherever else guy.
--Okada is obviously still with NJPW, while Marty Scurll surprisingly stayed with ROH.
--In the main event of course the Bucks are now with AEW, while Kota Ibushi decided to stay in NJPW. On the other side you have Rey Mysterio (back with WWE), Fenix (AEW), and Bandido (ROH). How wild is that?
--Even the announce team was Ian Riccaboni (ROH), Excalibur (now AEW), and Don Callis (Impact).
In a way it was a little sad since the various co-promoting relationships were strained in the wake of AEW's formation. There's now bad blood between most of the Elite guys and NJPW and ROH. Impact is now just on an island doing all sorts of bizarre stuff. Friendships either drifted apart of became strained (Omega/Ibushi, Marty/Flip with the Elite). In a way I didn't really appreciate the show when it first aired, but looking back it was a snapshot in time when a group of guys got several promotions from around the globe to have some fun and put on a show.
