What Tessa said was wrong, repulsive and it managed to turn me from a mark for her into someone who can't stand her because of those comments, yes, she is a f***ing amazing athlete, but I can't enjoy her title run because it's marred by all the controversy, but, my question is, is this going to follow her for the rest of her career?
Like, even if you take out the whole 'Calling someone a racist remark and spitting on them' off the table, there's still a list as long as your arm of shit that Tessa's done that has caught up with her at the worst possible moment. I highly doubt that this is going to be a case where people are able, or are willing, to forget what she said and did.
It's a shame, because Tessa Blanchard is a f***ing phenomenal athlete and an amazing promo cutter, her feud with Sami is one of my favourite feuds in years and, yet, it's all being marred and the only person that Tessa should be blaming for this is the person who's looking back at her in the mirror.

I hate to say it this way because it really sounds insensitive and I dont mean it to, but it really depends on how she acts and if anything more comes out. People can change and honestly it is possible she has. But how she handled everything made it a lot worse.
Something I will compare it to is NFL draft prospects getting exposed for stuff they put on social media when they were younger. Josh Allen posted racist stuff on his twitter when he was younger and it came out right before the draft. He owned up to it apologized, and showed he changed. Tessa so far as denied several allegations so it looks worse.
I'm short, Tessa has to prove she has changed

She certainly hasn’t done herself any favors so far.

I think she is inviting the issue to keep coming up by effectively calling La Rosa Negra a liar.

People can change and honestly it is possible she has. But how she handled everything made it a lot worse. Pretty much. Like, for all the talk about “cancel culture” (all nonsense), people are more forgiving if you at least show you’ve learned and are moving on. The statement she put out clearly shows she’s ignoring all evidence of what happened so...

Yeah, she dug her heels in in exactly the way to make sure that it will follow her short of her lying low and building a good reputation for the next five years.
But...she'll likely do fine, just like other wrestlers with similar stains on their history. At this point, the wrestling world has a few comfortable-ish places (...like Impact) where promising and talented wrestlers end up, rather than go to.

Yes and no.
Yes, because some fans are never gonna forgive or forget what she did, especially if she doesn't actually take steps to better herself.
No, because some fans are gonna ignore anything she does because they like her, and there are gonna be companies that will book her regardless of anything she says or does. Keep in mind, Teddy Hart, Chasyn Rance and Jay Briscoe still get regular bookings, and Rance still gets students to his wrestling school.

Yup. Her doubling down, along with all the more recent stories coming out about her, pretty much ensured it would. She's shown no sign that she's learning from her past mistakes and trying to be a better person.

Much like The Briscoes are stuck in ROH for being racist homophobic hicks, she's stuck where she's at for her remarks and bullying

Once again I'm amazed Tully's daughter has heat with the rest of the boys & girls in the locker rooms.

Yes, it will follow her, and it should.
She will continue to have a career in wrestling, and will continue to likely be an attraction, but this will continue to be brought up and hang over her, at the very least, that she was and may still be a bully.
The racial part, yeah, that's unlikely to go away, either. Way too many confirmations from people with credibility to dismiss it.

I'm short, Tessa has to prove she has changed And even if she does change, there'll always be people out there who - when she slips or even when she does something incredibly good - will yell out "YEAH WELL YOU WERE A BITCH THAT TIME!" and the whole issue just marrs whatever progress has ever been made.

It depends on how she wants to handle it from here on out.
If she keeps her head down and her mouth shut, and is prepared to pay some dues with the locker room (going even so far as to put some of the women over or, indeed, losing the Impact title (because, in part, I don't think she should be holding it anyway), it might go some way to rehabbing her image. As things currently stand, however, Impact will be as high as she can go. WWE gave her a pass; AEW has Tully as a manager but won't have her.
It probably wouldn't hurt her to take a few months off to let the hubbub die down and to let her think a bit about what's happened. Right now, she's in a state with her peers worse than the Miz was, and he wasn't allowed to change in the locker room for three or four years - two of them after his chief accuser was dead. She needs to earn back her spot, or else every accolade she gets from here on out will reek of favouritism and will poison fans and talent on whichever promotion will have her. A kayfabe labrum tear ought to do it - guaranteed six months for her to get treatment, rehab, do some reflection, basically make her come back normal and an actual asset to the business.

Mud sticks. So yep.
The issue with her will be with her peers rather than companies, because I assume she will be professional enough now to not get herself black listed from companies, and companies only care if your professional enough to do business. Her issue is going to be finding actual women who are willing to work with her, she cant face men forever, this is a novelty like Chyna and she will need to go back to wrestling females

Yes and no.
It will follow her forever. But not much. It didn't even stall her career for 24 hours, and the places that weren't going to book her probably haven't changed given the fans seem to be the ones this was news to rather than the workers.

Yes and no. AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar's homophobia, Seth Rollins calling all female fans ringrats hasn't damaged their careers in any meaningful way, if she gets signed by the WWE and has good matches people will be more willing to forgive and forget.
If she keeps working indies though, second and third tier promotions, she's going to be dealing with this for a lot longer as people will see less of her and won't be as blinded by workrate.
