This new iteration of Drew Mac, one that isn’t just “generic hoss heel #27321” or “heel lackey #218372”, now this I like.

I didn't watch, did he eliminate Brock as well?

I didn't watch, did he eliminate Brock as well? Yep, with the assist from Ricochet. Ricochet low blowed Brock and Drew Claymore'd him out.

I really have to question why they ever made him a heel.

I really have to question why they ever made him a heel. Man just keep him as his current "3, 2, 1," "this one is for my wife" character and see what he does with it. I dig this guy.

I didn't watch, did he eliminate Brock as well? Dude eliminated the entire WrestleMania 31 main event, dumping out Lesnar, Reigns AND Rollins. Plus Corbin, Miz and Ricochet.

Well shit, looks like they're all in on Drew. At least they seem to be trying to make a new star. EDIT: That comes across as a bit negative actually, but I think it's a good move. Drew really came onto his own in his time on the UK indies, and he deserves the push.

That subtle...subtle touch! He didn't turn his back to Brock even after Brock got eliminated. We were all expecting Brock to do the blindside job after he got eliminated, but it didn't happen. I thought that was going to happen honestly. I figured Brock would toss Drew out of the match and that's the set up for their Mania match and then Roman would win by last eliminating Seth. This way was way better. Drew looked like a monster winning AND eliminating Lesnar. Here's the funny thing about WWE: when they book things right, they do it REALLY well. They just don't do it enough. But when they book things wrong, they somehow pick the single worst way to do it.

Character growth too because he turned his back on Orton on RAW and got the RKO. So this time he made damn sure Brock was gone and Ricochet was down.

Reallly will be a great story if the Chosen One is the one to put Brock down for good once and for all.

I'll say this much. I'm actually pleased with the outcome of Drew McIntyre winning the Royal Rumble.
As recently as about 3 weeks ago that would have made me despair, so these guys must be doing something right at least.

It’s because they’ve finally let him show a bit of his own damn personality with his character, instead of just being I AM SRS WRESTLER GRRR.

And even then, just flipping a serious heel into a fun-loving guy with a "3,2,1" catchphrase is pretty corny on paper, but hey, people are buying it. Me included.

Drew seems like a more natural babyface. He has the look of a main event star, it’s just a matter of having his personality connect with the audience.

Despite how some people may feel about him as a performer you can't dispute that Drew has worked his ass off. He's been doing this for almost 20 years, toiled as a comedy jobber, got fired, worked hard from scratch all over again and now he's the Rumble winner. Vince has inadvertently created one of the best comeback storylines ever.

Interestingly enough on the accidental long-term storyline front, I seem to recall Brock Lesnar attacking 3MB on one or two occasions back in 2013
