Ben at The Oddity Archive takes a look at some Theatrical Policy Trailers: I love these! Some of them are really funny! Others have great music.

The theater down the street from where I work ran the exact same "please, no talking" trailer in front of every movie from the 80s up until the day they converted to digital projectors. It was an image of a sunset, and a male voice says, "I love sunsets." A female voice says, "Are you going to talk the whole movie? Shhhhhh."
My girlfriend and I saw that thing so many times that no matter what theater we're in in what town, one of us will end up saying that we love sunsets right as the movie begins.

I used to work at the local Alamo Drafthouse Cinema here and while they liked to record celebs talking bout no talking/texting they did have generic ones. Like this is what they played when ours first opened and they should us during training. Yes thry aired this, also NSFW, some cussing: youtu.be/TIlDtI1bQ8kI wanted to just post the video but the screen grab has the F word right there. But it is pretty funny

Any Pittsburghers remember WDVE's Jim Krenn and Scott Paulson doing these in the 90s?
Showing up dressed as kings and loudly proclaiming, "We have arrived! Begin the film!" lol.

I THINK this guy really doesn't like modern movies and movie theaters. Just a hunch.

Hoping they include the fire hydrants and the smoking theatergoer... And...nope. Which makes me wonder if I am the only one who remembers this? Or am I Mandela Effecting another ad? Basically I saw it sometime in the early/mid '80s. It's just what I remembered seeing, as explained above. A No-Smoking theater policy trailer where someone who dares smoke in the movies gets soaked. It was probably by fire extinguisher, maybe some other form of water? 6-7 year old me found it hilarious of course. Been looking on YouTube to no avail yet.

My parents often took us out to the AMC theater in St. Ann, MO, and the little film strip guy was always a favorite of mine growing up.
