Governor of some rust belt state with a small population wants to make his people the guinea pigs for that, I bet they’ll thank him for it. I’m kind of ok with that That's more so my thing People wanting to please Trump will do this right away as some didn't even do Shelter in place. Now, we will have idiots running around thinking everything is all good and potentially spreading this shit again This is going to be sloppy. How the f*** can some states open tomorrow when their is still not enough testing yet Have you seen some of the idiots in charge in some of these states? That's how.

Look, ok, I am fed up of saying this as much as you are all of hearing it;
Hope isn’t the important thing. Knowing when this’ll all be back to normal (or whatever the new normal is), sorry to say, is not the important thing. The important thing is figuring out what to do next and what the steps are after that to even BEGIN thinking about when stuff can open or people can move more freely.
You can talk about people questioning things all they want but the biggest problem in some countries, not just the US, is that they’re more thinking about the economy or when sports are coming back or when major events can start back up and not thinking about whether we’re ready for even small, independent stores to open a single door without the potential to affect several thousand lives. The foundations need to be there to make sure people are abiding by rules to both try to get things going again and to prevent another wider outbreak. And from what I have seen, places are too busy trying to stroke their own egos or under-hyping the deadly disease (Hi, Brazil!) to do what is needed.
I really, really, REALLY sympathize with people who are going through hard mental times with this. I’m still annoyed I didn’t see Jon Moxley wrestle in Dublin or go to my usual haunts or collect my packages from work or even feel like things are more stable than they are. I have days when I am good and when I wonder what the point of anything is. But right this second, if it’s a choice between that and potentially being bed ridden, needing a ventilator to breathe and affecting several, much older people at my job who are more likely to die than I am? I’m taking the anxiety right now.

My mother just told me she thinks waiting ten more days to reopen the economy would be fine because things may be much better by then. Because we supposedly only had one new case in our immediate area today. So we'll just forget that our state had its biggest death toll today. I see.

So, I'm guessing everyone's views on Fauci and Birx will be reversed by end of day tomorrow after the last briefing.

You're taking about 283 leaps ahead of things on this. Slow down. This isn't the Purge. Of course not. It’s more like The Stand. Baby can you dig yo man? Oh jeez. My crazy aunt started in with this from the getgo. I've had to tell her repeatedly that no, it's not like The Stand, and that even Stephen King himself said it wasn't like The Stand at all.

I legitimately don’t know which scenario is worse. One is to be in a country with a higher mortality rate like Italy, Spain, or Switzerland. Another is to be a country with a disproportionately high infection rate and piss poor testing like the US.
Having said that, from what little news I can gather Iran has both scenarios going on. It’s the disastrous hot spot no one talks about.

I would talk about Iran, but some stuff in it might be inappropriate to discuss. Because, well, yew know. The only thing I can bring up is that an official warns of Autumn rise in cases: news.yahoo.com/irans-coronavirus-death-toll-rises-100617968.html

Im getting tired of hearing from folks on my facebook page about the Bill of Rights. Folks gotta realize that during this time (a pandemic) certain rights are gonna be gone temporarily. You cant bargin with a virus, read the Bill of Rights at a virus, so all this crying about rights and stuff is entitled. We all gotta hunker down during May so we can start slowly rebuilding in June.

If we're going to talk about assholes, look no further than stories from people still working with the general public (i.e., me).
This didn't happen to me, but it happened to a guy I know at the grocery store I work at. So this guy's job, unglamorous as it may be, is to wipe down the carts and the baskets with heavy disinfectant one at a time, and offering them to customers as they walk in the door. Customers are forbidden from just grabbing one that hasn't been cleaned, for obvious reasons. So this kid walks in, who was maybe in his 20s. He immediately grabs a basket that hasn't been cleaned. My coworker stops him and says wait a minute, I have to clean that. The kid just looks at him and says, "I don't care". My coworker stands his ground and won't let him into the store. The argument gets more and more heated until my coworker literally just says to him, "You know what? Fine. I hope you f***ing die from this." The kid just stares at him blankly for a minute and can only say, "Wow, you really mean that." I don't even know if the basket ended up getting cleaned or not, mercifully we have such extensive and thorough cleaning measures that one person being an asshole shouldn't affect anyone. Hopefully. My coworker immediately went to the store manager, who's very chill and a no-bullshit kinda guy, and he's not in any trouble given the circumstances.
And there are more stories where that came from. People being just bitter, angry assholes. Look, I get the general public is getting restless. They hate being stuck at home, they hate being away from friends and family, they hate being out of work. I get that because that's literally how the entire world feels right now. But taking out your frustrations on literally anyone right now is misguided because nobody has control over this thing. The evil government isn't locking you up and suspending your rights. Your "evil" government is trying to save your ass and you respond by ignoring it, treating people like shit, and declaring that it's some big conspiracy theory or it's really not that bad. Like I said, I get it. Everyone is scared and angry and uncertain and restless. I just wish people would consider those who are out on the frontlines every single day, all but looking this thing dead in the face. And I'm just a grocery store clerk. I'm still nowhere near the level of risk doctors and nurses are at. And I can't imagine the grief they're getting right now. I'm not even saying everyone's been an asshole. I've had a lot of customers be super nice and kind to me too. But man, the shitty ones stick out like a sore thumb.
TL;DR Tons of people are assholes and should be a little more considerate towards the people literally risking their lives for them.

I know this is the guy everyone is listening to but on the other hand f*** dood ambiguity like that is what kills all hope. He aint bullshittin anyone or giving anyone a false timeline...but f*** If that's the best answer he can give, that's the best answer he can give. This is a dynamic changing environment, with a virus that makes the rules and decides the timeline. Health and safety is his field, not hope. Yep, he's said that we don't make the Covid timeline, the virus makes it's timeline. He's still trying to get it into everybody's heads that this is a pandemic, not a hoax, and it should be taken seriously. Ah, like those assholes protesting at the various capitols? Essentially trying to claim freedom of speech means freedom of action and that no clear line of demarcation can be drawn between them. People who protest this saying that Coronavirus is a hoax, not as bad as the Flu, and nothing to worry about, while some of them are wearing N-95 masks.

Yeah, I'm getting cabin fever, but being stuck inside is a hell of a lot better than being stuck in a hospital on a ventilator.
PA is doing the mandatory mask thing starting Sunday night.
Again, I just want a haircut. Haha. Open up salons for a weekend or every other day. Do appointments only, and limit the number of workers. I get cleaned up, I will feel so much better, and can put up with another few weeks. 😊

A) It's really friggin sad how much the US has in common with Brazil here, with leaders who think that science has some political agenda against them. And B) Brazil has a very large population and some very poor areas where people are very much living on top of each other. Again, not ulike America's situation. But I'd imagine they have less resources and a worse healthcare system than the US. With less measures and less testing, they could easily surpass us for the being the epicenter of the pandemic.

I wont go into details but Bolsonaro worships Trump and he received help from him in the election.I wont go further because of rules. And actually, our healthcare is better than the US, we have the "SUS" which is a pretty well planned public health system believe it or not. The issue is that Bolsonaro has been trying to close SUS since he came to power.Because he wants to create a private-only health system just like the US,so our public health system is purposely underpaid and understaffed right now

But healthcare in terms of how they rank services, hospitals, doctors, etc. I actually looked it up before I posted because I know our hospitals are surprisingly middle of the pack for what insane rate they charge people, but ended up ranking in like the 30s in terms of quality of care.

We did manage do develop an open source cheap breather but even then some states are actually needing to received shipment medical itwmes while AVOIDING it going through the presidency. Some states are handling it well at least.

I think we're overdue for a positive story.
99 year old war veteran Captain Tom Moore wanted to raise £1000 for NHS Charities Together by completing 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday at the end of April.
He completed this the other day and has gone slightly over his £1000 target. The total is currently at over £18 million.
