I legitimately don’t know which scenario is worse. One is to be in a country with a higher mortality rate like Italy, Spain, or Switzerland. Another is to be a country with a disproportionately high infection rate and piss poor testing like the US. Having said that, from what little news I can gather Iran has both scenarios going on. It’s the disastrous hot spot no one talks about. I find that troubling. Iran has been rife for some kind of socio-political turmoil for a while now, and this may be the spark that sets it off. Problem is in the current situation, it looks primed to only make them move further rightward.

Im getting tired of hearing from folks on my facebook page about the Bill of Rights. Folks gotta realize that during this time (a pandemic) certain rights are gonna be gone temporarily. You cant bargin with a virus, read the Bill of Rights at a virus, so all this crying about rights and stuff is entitled. We all gotta hunker down during May so we can start slowly rebuilding in June. been listening to daily rants from family about this horrible move toward socialism and that unemployment is only so high (over 10% of the population, jayzus) because people just want to get some if everybody else is getting some.

Dear God, that sounds horrible, at least nowadays it's you can see who in your family and friend circles are morons who shouldn't be taken seriously. If I see another anti-vax because of ******* microchips and marks of the beast, I might lose my mind. I hate anti-vax people and I am warning in advance, if I see an anti-vax post here, I will call you out on that.

I think we're overdue for a positive story. 99 year old war veteran Captain Tom Moore wanted to raise £1000 for NHS Charities Together by completing 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday at the end of April. He completed this the other day and has gone slightly over his £1000 target. The total is currently at over £18 million. I’ll be honest, I’ve been horrified by this. Good for him for doing it and keeping him active but good God, the NHS is not a charity. It’s a tax funded, government institution that the Tories have underfunded for years because they want to sell it and replicate the US system and make a profit from it. They can’t right now because they’re trying to tell us how great the nurses are, making us try to forget that most of the people in government cheered, CHEERED, in parliament when they won a vote to prevent nurses from getting a pay rise not many years ago. It’s like the stories of children doing chores to help raise money for other children’s lunches. The F*** are doing something the government or the school should be providing? Again...horrified.

And speaking of the UK, they just had police officers on Westminster Bridge blare their horns and one of the ferries drive around with fancy lights on the Thames to give their support for the workers in the NHS.
Hey f***ers, if you care so much about them, get them better equipment, make sure there are actual ventilators for people who need them and most importantly, PAY THEM! Healthcare workers are getting sick and dying right now. Nobody gives a f*** if a ferry is doing donuts.

Well here is the good and bad Trump says the States have their own authority However, with that being said, he essentially said that states can open "as soon as tomorrow" and be in Phase 1 We're going to see this virus go nuts in the Bible Belt. They're already pissed about the lockdown and treat science like the plague (ironic).

Yea, it is def going to be a tail of two halves Those looking to please Trump and those saying f*** it we got to do what's best for our states. You've seen a few states clearly do what's best for them while others are saying f*** it like it never happened This could cause division between states because I can see some saying yeah we will open and the next state will say well good luck with that because none of your citizens is traveling over here while we still are waiting to recover

And Wisconsin's stay home order has been extended to the end of May. Provided it doesn't get challenged in court as is being threatened already.

You cant bargin with a virus, read the Bill of Rights at a virus, so all this crying about rights and stuff is entitled. We all gotta hunker down during May so we can start slowly rebuilding in June. None of our rights have been stripped, fortunately. We still have all of the same rights today that we had back in January and that should remain the case going forward. But what's making people anxious are really, really poorly-worded social media postings like this one from the Raleigh, N.C. Police Department: What can't be captured in a 280-character Tweet is that protesting is absolutely essential, vital, and protected via the First Amendment, and that should always remain the case regardless of whether there's a global pandemic. But it's how you protest that determines whether you'll be leaving the protest in handcuffs. For example, when protesters block highways and city streets to object to police brutality, that's an arrestable offense regardless of the First Amendment right to free speech or whether you agree with what they're protesting. The same went for the protest in Raleigh earlier this week. The protest was legal, it was the fact that they were all so close together that drew the ire of government officials, which in turn drew the ire of free speech defenders. If the protest took place but everyone was six feet apart, no one would've batted an eye.

If there wasnt a global pandemic going on, Id be all for protests, Ive taken part in several but it would be hard to maintain social distancing during any form of protest. Unless it was like the clever homeless folks in my town who pretended to protest so they can set up tents. Which would make people turn the other way

I'm sure it makes a lot of people feel better about themselves to show their support for the healthcare workers, but taking the government to task for leaving them in such a vulnerable position in the first place and donating to local NHS charities are much more constructive actions.

They're already pissed about the lockdown and treat science like the plague (ironic). Here in Indiana, on the same day that we saw the largest increase in new cases within the state to date, Governor Eric Holcolm (R) has started the process to end restrictions already. He says some of the right things in front of the press, but already I see FB notifications from local stores that they are reopening tomorrow after getting approval from the governor's office. I would not be sure what to believe, except Holcolm is a Mike Pence-devotee.
