Benoit footage in a WWE piece? The hell?!! I was surprised they showed him briefly taking the RKO, thought they would edit that part out completely. Still I thought it was a decent documentary and at least JR can't say they didn't name drop him this week on his podcast.

I would have liked to see an episode on Shawn's comeback, that was a big part of this era. Of course, they might have to cover the WM19 match with Jericho, but I'm sure they have old footage of Jericho discussing the match in the archives.

I’m pretty sure it was the HHH bio DVD, but Benoit wasn’t only shown, but HHH mentioned him by name during a floating head.

watching the evolution episode now. I really never really heard about the Orton/Batista vs Steiner/Booker Match that HHH thought was a so much of shit show that he got pissed. I feel like that would have been something that would have made the rounds on the internet during that time.

I thought the Evolution episode was fantastic because it did what a documentary should do, it provided me with information I didn't know going into it. In this episode, I learned about:
- Ric Flair's struggles with his own mortality upon arriving in WWE in the early 2000s. - The infamous Orton/Batista versus Steiner/Booker match that nearly sunk the entire concept of Evolution. - Randy Orton and Batista getting injured in a single match, thus delaying Evolution's impact by several months. - The idea of replacing Batista with Mark Jindrak, Jindrak's relationship with Orton, and that leading to his dismissal before even landing in Evolution.
I'd say it's on par with the debut episode and leagues better than the John Cena episode. While I'd still like to see a more unbiased source cover this era in WWE history, I think the series has been excellent so far.

The way they cut in the commentary here makes it sound like a WWE video game.

Yeah, people kind of forget how directionless Flair was in 2002. After the white-hot Vince and Taker feuds, he didnt do much of anything memorable. They tried to make him an evil authority figure, but outside of wrestling Austin in one of his last matches, nothing really came from that, he had matches with Brock and Rock, neither of which got much hype, and he was basically in danger of becoming just another guy on the roster.

Watching Orton as a young dick...yikes, especially the bit where Jindrack winds him up and he macks on a lady in catering.

This may be an unpopular opinion...but Batista's theme without the lyrics was so much better.

Just watched the Brock episode - there's Heyman and all the usual talking heads... but no Brock. I would have liked his input on the decisions he made from 2002-2004.

Considering that Brock largely had a minimal documentary that was re-released in 2012 and Brock spewing nonsense in 2015, there's not much about his WWE run. "Death Clutch" doesn't really bother talking about that run either as he liked to focus on his MMA career at that point.

WWE recruiting amateur wrestlers? That's weird back then.
And, oh no! Not again with Cornette!!!

It's WWE jobber Shelton Benjamin.
Too bad they didn't talk to Shelton about what he did during this time period.

And we talk about the shooting star press already.
I don't see this not being brought up again...

Brock Lesnar vs. a guy that should not be allowed on Twitch streams.

Let's be honest; Hogan did the job in the hopes that he would come back and beat Brock later, right?
