If the sale is approved, Steve Cohen plans to hire Sandy Alderson as his new President of Baseball Operations. Why? He wasn’t horrible, but the last thing the Mets should do is go back to their past I don't mind Alderson being back at all. The guy was mostly amazing despite having cheap owners.

It’s so cool to be so dead wrong about Mike Yastrzemski. I thought he would be a one-year wonder but he looks legit. Crazy how someone can finally break in and figure everything out going on 30.

A cap on this weird ass season The Marlins make the playoffs They have still yet to win the NL East, of course, but they broke a 17 year streak. That just leaves the Mariners.

Giants just took the lead on a three run home run in the sixth. These were the first runs allowed all season by Drew Pomeranz. That’s crazy.

well Wilmer Flores' home run might have just ended the Mets chances at making the playoffs (not that they were going to make it anyway) on a side note, I'm really tired of this Giants even year crap

They’re a terrible team on paper. Their manager was not great coming in, and awful the first quarter-plus of the season. I don’t know where this is coming from. I had them in the running for the #1 pick coming in. On that note, Padres making noise in the bot-6 of a 7-inning double header. (Nothing came of it)

About to get walk-off’d by Tatis though. I can feel it.

About to get walk-off’d by Tatis though. I can feel it. Nvm, Walked off by the guy before Tatis. What a disaster of a loss. And right after I’ve been propping Kapler a bit. He goes with a struggling reliever to close it, who of course struggles, and instead of taking him out after three hitters he leaves him in and he promptly gets walked/off. Between this one and the Colorado one they don’t deserve the playoffs. They’re a shitty team playing way above their heads.

Kind of curious.....how does Toronto and Cleveland have better records than Houston, yet Houston is the 6 seed and they are the 7 & 8 seed.

Oh, should be noted that the Phillies have failed again to make the postseason.
How many World Series was Harper going to win you again?

He needs to get a theme song like his grandpa had: Man why don't they write novelty theme songs for ballplayers anymore? Talk about something that needs to make a comeback.

I’m pretty sure the Phillies and Brewers still both have a shot. The Giants beating San Diego isn’t a given these last two games. Especially after last nights momentum killing heart breaker.

Hunter Pence just retired. I’m so sad this last year of his career went this way... from All-Star to outhouse. I really wish he could have rode off into the sunset on a better note.
Make the playoffs for the man, Giants. Do it for Hunter.

Kind of curious.....how does Toronto and Cleveland have better records than Houston, yet Houston is the 6 seed and they are the 7 & 8 seed. Because Houston is the second place team in the NL West while Toronto and White Sox are the Wild Cards, with Cleveland and the Yankees ahead of them as the second place teams in their division. Houston benefited from the rest of the AL West being pretty shitty this year besides Oakland.
Granted, the seeding is very fluid right now. Cleveland and the White Sox are tied and can switch places, along with the Yanks and Toronto being very close in record. Hell, Cleveland and Chicago are within reach of displacing Minnesota as the AL Central winner and a top 3 seed.

So who has the tie breaker between the Yankees and Blue Jays? 5-5 head to head, and if the Blue Jays win out, they have the same record vs the division, so what is next? If it is run differences, the Yankees win that by a mile.
