I'm torn because I've worked with a couple of these actors. I'm happy they're in the show but my goodness the way they were directed is infuriating.
Character writing is mostly devoid of personality, harmed further by the fact that almost every line is delivered the same slow pace, to a point where if I close my eyes I often can't tell who's talking.

Watched the first four episodes last night. Looks nice, though sometimes the closeups "reveal the weakness of the premise." No one jumps out as being likable, though I wonder if that's the idea given both sides are presented as shades of gray. Echo the VAs being bland except for Not Cullen and Not Latta (and even that gets silly when Prime raises his voice, or Starscream lowers his. It just doesn't sound right) If they lifted the VAs they used for the Bumblebee movie that would have helped. {Spoiler} "He's not a weapon, he's a tool" got a chuckle out of me.

I'm in the middle of a big Transformers watch/rewatch right now. I should be finishing the Japanese Headmasters series tonight, and starting Masterforce tomorrow.
I also plan to watch/rewatch:
Victory Zone (only one episode) Beast Wars Japanese Beast Wars Beast Machines RID (2001) Unicron Trilogy Animated
Once I finish those, I will totally watch this. Also by then there might be more parts out.

Oh yeah, when I was criticising the voice acting a page back, I need to be clear, no one is bad at what they are asked to do, just too many of the voices are generic, and in the case of Shockwave and Ironhide specifically, are just wrong.

I enjoyed it. It's definitely a step in the right direction when compared to the Combiner Wars trilogy. I do agree that too many of the voices lack distinction, and the show feelsa little rushed and lacking in depth. It almost seemed like an extended special leading into the actual season, instead of being one. The animation was beautiful, and the whole visual aesthetic was really well done. For where it goes here, I'd hope they get a couple more episodes (>10?) and a chance to flesh out the side characters. But I'm feeling optimistic (Optimus-tic?) about it.

Looking at the synopsis for the second and third parts I'm not terribly confident this will change. {Spoiler}The second "season" just transplants the action to Earth, while the third sends the two factions back in time to the Beast Wars setting, which is a big buzzkill for me, as I've never cared a bit for that era of the franchise.

But I don't imagine things are just going to hard cut into the war already taking place on Earth. Especially with the ending of the season showing Teletran warning of an approaching ship, which I'm guessing are the Quintessons. I can't imagine why they'd have that scene if they're not doing anything with it. I'm guessing episode one deals with them, then they land on Earth at the end and we see that the Decepticons already beat them, or arrive at the roughly same time. Whether we'll get more depth out of the episodes coming out, who can say, but I'm hopeful. Also how else would the show pay tribute to the G1 cartoon without shoving wave 2 toys into it without any explanation?

The show is like 'Castlevania' in that it just kinda stops.
I didn't hate it, at least they were taking it seriously and not some Bayformers crap.

Slightly off topic, but for TF fans. Cyberverse on youtube. It's the more "Kiddy" TF Cartoon. First season or so seemed rough to me, but after that it's been a fairly fun ride.
