Anybody else reading the IDW comics? I got the first 3 ultimate collection paperbacks over the last few months and I'm just loving them. It's the perfect distillation of literally every other adaptation.

It's the perfect distillation of literally every other adaptation. Right here! It's the regular trade paperbacks I collect and read, and I'm pretty much upto date with them. But yeah, they've not only done a fantastic job mixing the best bits of all the other adaptations, they have also mixed in a lot of their own great original characters and themes and added their own twists on certain storylines and origins. I really love the series overall.

Kinda wish Superfly was a cat so he could be Hob instead because character wise they're almost the same.

Hob is great, and he becomes a major player in other ways later on that are too spoilery for me to say. I really liked Alopex early on too, she was really cool.

How did Armaggon never have a playmates figure? Was it a rights thing? It's weird guys like f***ing Scratch and Doctor El have figures but Armaggon, Jagwar and Dreadmon don't.

I have not read all of the IDW TMNT line, but it starts pretty strong, aided by them not feeling totally beholden to telling the same stories we've seen a thousand times early on. Like, you definitely get some throwbacks to Mirage, etc, but it tries to put its best foot forward on doing its own take on things, too, and that definitely is to its benefit.

She has told me many times that I would enjoy it. And how it does feel like a modern and better ran version of the Mirage comic. Which is appealing to me. I do find it interesting how TMNT and Scooby Doo are both kid's franchises that have spanned so many generations.

Yeah, and both have felt comfortable having some fun with it, even if both have had some failures along with their successes on that front.

He's pretty hit or miss with his stuff, his street level characters tend to be okay
