I clocked out from work, and go to the site in my phone and see that I had 9 notifications.
My first thought was “Oh, God, what did I do?”, until I clicked on it.
Loving all the coded messages people have been posting.

"I remember talking to Cod y Rhodes when Jon and I first started dating, and he was like 'Aw, that's cool that you guys are together, but it'll be interesting to see how you'll react when things aren't going so well for one of you.' Things at the time were going great for me and Jon," Young said. "It always stuck in my head like 'Oh, what does he mean by that? Like, what does happen if something is not going well, or we have a bit of a struggle?' Obviously now, we've been together for six years and married for three of them. Ob viously, we've gone through those bumps where things haven't been so great. But, I couldn't be happier that he's the person that's beside me when I'm losing my mind, and not knowing what's next." "At that time, I'm doing comment ary, and I'm sitting in production meetings, and the newsbreaks are going on about him signing with AEW, and I was bracing for that impact like what is going to happen?" Nothing changed for me. Nobody treated me differently. Other than the boys who wanted to know how he was doing, no one pulled me aside and asked 'Oh my God, what is Jon doing? We've got to keep this separated.' That conversation never happened." "Our work is s eparate, even though we work in the same industry and do t he same things, we're just a regular couple that happened to work in wrestling. So, he wan ts to go off and do something else, I'm not going to be like 'Oh my God, you're not on the road with me,' No, you busted your ass s ince you were a kid to achieve this gigantic dream. D on't sit around and meet me in catering after the show. F' that. You go do the thing you need to do. Go knock on those doors, go to Japan." "When he came to me and said he wanted to leave WWE, I said sure. When you know, you know. When you want to go do something else, you have to go do it. You've got to go scratch that itch. You can't sit around and wonder the what if's or missed opportunities. Time goes by too quickly to sit around and hem and haw over stuff. It really wasn't a big issue to me." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2020/03/renee-young-on-if-she-was-treated-differently-after-jon-667223/

The two people I know that left the WWE "recently" with their spouse still there, the spouses weren't (at least publicly) treated any differently.

I mean, she technically works at FOX. Cleatus the Robot takes good care of his people and his vengeance is brutal when they're wronged. The last guy who wronged a FOX Sports employee? Let’s just say there’s a reason they’re walking around like somebody kicked a football straight up their ass.

WWE knows they would 1) look really bad if they punished Renee in any way because of Moxley and 2) look foolish if Renee ends up in AEW because of it, considering she one of their more well-known non-wrestling personalities.
WWE can be petty, but not when it has more to lose than gain by doing so.

That's a dick thing to say to someone, Cody. I don't think it is. Keep in mind, he was with Brandi by then, and she had already quit the company once, and of course, would do it again later. These are stressors you have to think about when you're working for the same company.

I know everyone wants to talk about Renee's leverage... But there is another possibility... That they just like her (personally or professionally) so much they really don't care that much about what she does concerning Jon/AEW?

Nobody is disputing it isn’t that at all, we’re just going from historical precedents of pettiness. Also the fact ESPN allegedly were chasing her last year so it wasn’t like if she left WWE, she was done forever.

It’s Renee paraphrasing, he probably wasn’t so blunt with his wording either.

Plus there's also a certain negative stigma about wrestling relationships' longevity, especially in WWE where they used to split the couples up to different brands (this practice seemed to stop a couple of years ago) or if one part of the couple stayed employed and the other was released from their contract. Cody and Renee are still friends IIRC, so I doubt it was mean-spirited.

Renee and Mox seem like the coolest and most laid-back couple in wrestling. Moxnee Pictures presents: Dirty Deeds

Renee is a hell of a talent and any assumptions that WWE is trying to keep her happy for the sake of Mox or AEW or whatever lawsuit is selling her short IMO. Not saying I see that come up often really, but I do see her placed behind her husband as a kinda bargaining chip in these discussions and I find it odd.
Far as I can tell, it's all as simple as she's a valued and respected employee.

How can someone so mediocre be teflon? Because she’s actually extremely talented (outside of color commentary).

I like Renee well enough, but the idea she'd walk into any sportscasting job like a female Tony Romo is something that has just been repeated so often on here it's now accepted as a fact.
