"I remember talking to Cody Rhodes when Jon and I first started dating, and he was like 'Aw, that's cool that you guys are together, but it'll be interesting to see how you'll react when things aren't going so well for one of you.' Things at the time were going great for me and Jon," Young said. "It always stuck in my head like 'Oh, what does he mean by that? Like, what does happen if something is not going well, or we have a bit of a struggle?' Obviously now, we've been together for six years and married for three of them. Obviously, we've gone through those bumps where things haven't been so great. But, I couldn't be happier that he's the person that's beside me when I'm losing my mind, and not knowing what's next." "At that time, I'm doing commentary, and I'm sitting in production meetings, and the newsbreaks are going on about him signing with AEW, and I was bracing for that impact like what is going to happen?" Nothing changed for me. Nobody treated me differently. Other than the boys who wanted to know how he was doing, no one pulled me aside and asked 'Oh my God, what is Jon doing? We've got to keep this separated.' That conversation never happened." "Our work is separate, even though we work in the same industry and do the same things, we're just a regular couple that happened to work in wrestling. So, he wants to go off and do something else, I'm not going to be like 'Oh my God, you're not on the road with me,' No, you busted your ass since you were a kid to achieve this gigantic dream. Don't sit around and meet me in catering after the show. F' that. You go do the thing you need to do. Go knock on those doors, go to Japan." "When he came to me and said he wanted to leave WWE, I said sure. When you know, you know. When you want to go do something else, you have to go do it. You've got to go scratch that itch. You can't sit around and wonder the what if's or missed opportunities. Time goes by too quickly to sit around and hem and haw over stuff. It really wasn't a big issue to me." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2020/03/renee-young-on-if-she-was-treated-differently-after-jon-667223/

Now how can I spin this into “WWE threatened to kill Renee in cold blood because of AEW” Well, it’s clearly a coded cry for help in a message designed to fool people into believing she’s not being held hostage.

Apparently she was backstage during Revolution so I hope nothing bad happens to her unless it's not big deal for her to be there

Apparently she was backstage during Revolution so I hope nothing bad happens to her unless it's not big deal for her to be there Renee is basically bulletproof at this point, and it's not like AEW pulled a "Britt Baker at NXT" and put her on camera. She also went with Jon to Japan for NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom event (even posting her "Mrs. Jon Moxley" credentials on social media). I doubt anything punitive will happen to her.

well remember ESPN was supposed to be after her when he previous contract was running out as well as another sports related network (I forget which) before she resigned for good money. so it's possible her unchanged treatment could be the wwe realizing they could easily lose her if they tried any shenanigans once ambrose/moxley left even before AEW was a thing.

Aren't interviewers actual employees?
Not only is Renee so talented that it'd be completely idiotic to mess with her, but if they did anything, she'd basically be able to destroy them in a lawsuit?

I’m sure she misses having him around but he had no choice but to leave and it’s working out great for him atm. Hoping their relationship stays strong.

Renee and Mox seem like the coolest and most laid-back couple in wrestling.

I mean, as Darth said, she’s practically bulletproof. Not in a “she’ll go to AEW” way but in a “she could take any sports job she wanted if WWE treated her any way weirdly at the first opportunity” sort of way.

I mean, she technically works at FOX. Cleatus the Robot takes good care of his people and his vengeance is brutal when they're wronged.
