I guess I cant say for sure since I wasnt there, but I'm not buying for even one f***ing second that Mike Graham punked out both Chris Benoit and Sid Vicious. They’re both true lol. Barry Windham confirmed that Mike took out the squeegee away from Sid and told him to go home because he was embarrassing himself. Then regarding Benoit, it’s not that he punked him out, it’s that he threatened him with a knife so that’s how they got their WCW release.

Beefcake had this really weird story on his Timeline of the WWF 1989 interview. In reference to January 26, 1989 in Flint, MI when the sports commission wouldn't allow Beefcake to wrestle Rick Rude so The Ultimate Warrior had to pull double duty and take his place. Sean asks "why would one be barred from wrestling the Ultimate Warrior?" which is incorrect since he was barred from wrestling Rude but Beefcake says: "Because I was supposed to beat him. Hahaha. Yeah. He was gonna lose so they had to cook up some excuse to bar me. I was supposed to take the belt from him. I was supposed to beat him in Summerslam. I was supposed to get the belt. The whole thing with Ron Bass came about because I was supposed to be wrestling Honky Tonk Man and get the belt and then they had to switch the whole PPV around because Warrior threw a temper tantrum and was gonna quit because he was Vince's boy at the time. And it threw a monkey wrench into the whole thing. I had no idea that whole thing was coming." How he got from point A to point Z is amazing. Beefcake's another one prone to really stretching the truth at points. His claim of the Dream Team being one of the first heel teams to get cheered (to the point those fans would get into apparent fights with fans that booed them) may have happened a time or two, but it screams wishful thinking.

It'd probably easier to make a list of who tells the unfiltered truth than who's the biggest liar. I feel like Tony Schiavone is pretty honest. I think that's why his podcast is one of Conrad's best. He obviously can't be bothered to give a shit, so if he remembers it, he says it. I would second Prichard being a huge liar. I finally had to tap out on his podcast because of his revisionist history. When its not relating to The Elite, Joshi, and others he hates Cornette is usually truthful in historicsl retellings of events

Sid was injured at the time, but that one checks out for the most part. As far as Benoit, like you said, Graham had a knife and they were trying to either get Graham/Sullivan fired or get out of their contracts. From my understanding Benoit wanted to retaliate and would most likely beat the hell out of him, but Guerrero talked him out of it, since this incident was their way out. From Saturn's shoot interview, which is a little hazy, Guerrero seemed to be the brains and talking head for them getting out of WCW.

For all of his ignorant faults, he does seem to be pretty honest on most things.

As Brickhouse Brown told us a few years back. "We are wrestlers we are always working. IF I told ya the sky was blue you better go outside and check twice.Even when I was doing all those shoots for Highspots I was working."

Jim Cornette when he said that Dusty Rhodes vs Hulk Hogan should have been one of the main events at Mania 18 That interview was where I first realized that Jim Cornette wasn't quite the booking genius that we had been led to believe.

Given how much we know about CTE and how much it's extremely likely most of the people who often get brought up when this subject arises are to have some kind of form from mild to severe, it always makes me kind of uncomfortable mocking them for misremembering things or telling a story that we know is contradicted by evidence.
These are guys who took unprotected chairshots on a regular basis for 15-20 years. I really struggle to view them believing they were supposed to go over someone who maybe wasn't even in the company at the time at an event yet to exist for a title that someone else held in an arena yet to be built etc, as something malicious on their part. Actually the whole subject makes me uncomfortable given what we know the situation with many of these people is very, very likely to be.

Actually the whole subject makes me uncomfortable given what we know the situation with many of these people is very, very likely to be. That's a very good point. I mean, I think we all know with our own lives, events and moments start to meld into one as the years pass. Things you thought happened at one event, people remember happening at a different event and suchlike. Add into this years of chairshots, drinking every night and snorting and popping everything under the sun and it soon becomes easy to see how what happened on that one night in 1988 (for example) will become hazy. It's also worth remembering that while we as fans tend to strive for encyclopedic knowledge of the things we are fans of, to the people that were actually doing these things (I.E. the wrestlers) it was just another night on the road for them. Events that bear cultural significance to us was more than likely just another 10 minutes work to the wrestler before they headed off to the next town. That doesn't excuse some of the whoppers that have been told over the years (I'm looking at you Mr. Bollea) but I think occasionally we should be a little more forgiving when wrestlers mess up dates or give strange timelines to things, because more than likely, there is some truth in there, just not necessarily in the right order.

Worse than that he also booked Terry Funk against the Undertaker. No sting, no Goldberg, no DDP but instead ancient Dusty Rhodes and Terry Funk.

Also, he mocks the Brawl for All at every opportunity, but IIRC, doesn't he mention giving guys like Benoit and Angle extra money to shoot fight?

Used to be a Corny mark, lately I find him unbearable. Even I have to admit that when i heard his fantasy booking of the invasion angle, i was shocked. It was so bad. I get his ideas behind it, but legit only die hards would buy and watch. Giant miscalculation on his part.
