I wont link to it because it could break forum rules but a reddit poster pointed out one of the phrases said is straight up from a cult documentary .
Also how a lot of what he is doing can be found in said documentaries

Again, as it was said before, if we’re looking at it from a wrestling perspective, sure, it’s a Vince parody whatever.
But a wider perspective, though? A lot of the behavior is some manipulative cult shit that is really disturbing to look at compared to other cult leaders in the past.
This thread’s sense of perspective is really weird.

Does only one person have to do it for it to mean he’s doing it because of Vince? Even the AEW insider Meltzer said the sneezing and the eating before others were specifically about Vince. Haven’t seen what he said about the subsequent weeks. Really glad to know you signposted that your takes are going to be bad with this bit. Yes, it's clear that the Exalted One character is taking a lot from Vince, but the character is also being presented in such a way where you don't have to know that to understand the text of the character. True, but if people deny this character existing because Brodie dislikes Vince, they're actively in denial. Listen to the man on Talk is Jericho. He despises Vince McMahon, and now he's on television playing a sociopathic corporate cult leader. It's pretty darned on the nose.

Not saying he’s on the payroll or anything, I’m saying he has more insight into what they’re doing than he does into WWE given his good relationships with top talent/bookers in AEW.

Gotta love how a "you sneezed?!" Easter egg has been turned into a cudgel for some out there to treat AEW like it's 2004-era TNA or something regarding WWE.
Meanwhile Lee's over here clearly doing lots of research into acting like real world cult leaders and sociopathic business types, but nope, "This sucks, it's all about Vince!"
If they were doing Billionaire Ted style skits, I'd get it: those got nobody over, insulted wrestlers and personalities who were fan favorites, and generally amounted to titanic wastes of time for viewers. If they were having Mox, Jericho, Hagar, Dustin, Spears, Brodie, and PAC all coming out doing "I'm not gonna listen to THOSE PEOPLE UP NORTH anymore!" promos, I'd get it: those are boring motivations, they don't further character arcs, and they don't make for interesting feuds most of the time.
But the bellyaching that existed in some corners because Cody broke a throne, or Brodie slid in a "Vince hates sneezes" Easter egg, or Jericho said "We the People" was shitty writing (less criticisms of that one, granted, since Jericho used it to stop crowds from chanting it in AEW), it's just so tiring and comes off as a way to write off non-WWE promotions on some level. Like, what, should we pretend WWE isn't the 800 pound gorilla in the pro wrestling room? Are all references forbidden, as if there's never been similar small jabs or parodies in movies, TV shows, etc.? Should we bash all commercials where one product compares itself to another with a bigger market share? Why should we treat pro wrestling so differently on this front? Again, it's exhausting.

Next week, Brodie is going to force everyone to wrestle a live show on TNT.

Reading this thread people are way overthinking this.
Nearly all the Vinceisms are only things the sort of people who read message boards or are on wrestling twitter will notice which is barely anyone out of the people at AEW shows or watching it on tv. And for us it’s a cool Easter egg
Brodie is just tapping a great well of content for the character he is playing, it’s no different to Scott hall watching scarface and coming up with Razor Ramon or speaking of cult leaders Raven basing his character on David Koresh.

Maybe we're missing the forest for the trees; maybe it's less that Brodie is doing a Vince, it's that Brodie is doing a cult leader, and Vince McMahon shares many similarities with cult leaders.

Outside of the sneezing thing, people are trying way too hard to connect dots that aren't on the same piece of paper. "Dress for success" is like Corporate Employment 101. The sneezing. The yawning. The eating before the others. Eating a steak. The line in his first promo. Mr. Brodie. The dress code/tie segment. The split-color suit, which Vince has pretty much exclusively worn in recent years. Not much of a stretch.

I saw on Reddit Brodie used a line from the Scientology leader...the Dark Order as a whole being more Scientology-y makes sense, from their image to Brodie's leadership style. That sounds pretty reasonable and bunch of great ideas. Cults a thing too.

I'm very of this mind. I can name real-life cult leaders that Brodie absolutely resembles. My fiancee's take on the first vignette was that he was an abusive father figure. (We both found the first vignette viscerally disturbing, for the record, so I'm kind of side-eyeing the take that this is a comedy gimmick.)

I mean... he does... Vince is a super charismatic guy with a bunch of quirks that is an absolutely ruthless businessman... and that usually leads to at the very least a personality cult to start up...

I hope this eventually leads the world full of McMahonists or Dark Orders.

Yeah for years Vince has got a free pass by some of us on this very message board (myself included at times) for absolutely shitty criminal behaviour because of all the crazy Vince stories and it all being explained away as him just being quirky and eccentric. It’s like remember the time he helped cover up a murder but lol snocones Or remember when a wrestler died on his watch to save a few seconds but lol sneezing.

Looks like he needs Preparation H. He prefers to be called Hunter. now I'm just thinking of those terrible "PArody" shirts the sold for like 2 weeks... Preperation HHH was one of them... with a picture of the box with like apply for asskicking written on it... and Undertaker as the Quaker Oats guy... there were more but those were the two ones that stuck out to me as the most... who the hell is this for?

He prefers to be called Hunter. "I can't feel my ass Paul!" Wait is preparation h something different to what I thought it was? I don’t think we have it here, whenever I’ve seen it mentioned online I’ve assumed it was slang for heroin.
