I did meet Virgil once, but can't say it was lonely since it was WrestleCon, and tons of people were there. Hell, "DiBaise" was there too, though he wasn't pleased when I told him Virgil was several hundred feet away.

I heard one time Virgil opened a restaurant, and no one came to the restaurant, and they had to close the restaurant.

Hasn’t Virgil been promising appearances by Ted without his permission? He didn't verbally say Ted would appear BUT he has a large custom sign, that a convention promoter had made and most likely gave to Virgil and Virgil had that set up next to his table. It had a 1987/1988 photo of the two (Dibiase in a black/purple suit which was the photo used on WWF Magazine). I was at a show where the promoter had 3 WWE Legends and Virgil was set up outside the shop with his sign. A middle age mother went into the shop asking how much Ted autographs were because it's her son's favorite. I'm guessing the boy like Ted Jr given the time period. The staff member, having not been outside, new nothing of Ted's appearance and assured the woman it was only the 3 wrestlers in the shop appearing. At a show in the early 2000s a sports convention promoter, one of the bigger ones at the time, had Iron Sheik and Virgil. The promoter pre sold tickets but when the guys got there they "went into business" for themselves, had fees at their table so anyone who pre bought a ticket had to get a refund from the promoter. Abdullah the Butcher did that at another show.

How dare we laugh at lonely Virgil?
This man is a messiah. He was practicing social distancing before it was cool!

I saw Virgil at a comic convention in the cafeteria. He grabbed potato chips and called himself a fat ass.
