Man I have a coworker that looks so much like Brodie and listening to this they sound alike too lol. Also Triple H sounds like kind of a crappy head of talent relations...it's interesting that Brodie talked to HHH about working NJPW and HHH said he was going to make it happen, wasn't there a rumor last year WWE might buy a huge stake in NJPW or something? Also interesting the amount of times Brodie talked to HHH and said he was going to take care of something then never followed up, or saying talent relations/contract stuff wasn't his field when it totally is. Not defending HHH at all, but it always comes down to what Vince wants. HHH might be in the inner circle, but ultimately, the only voice that matters is Vince's.

Just listened to the interview, and there's one big thing that sticks out to me: people in WWE were telling Brodie that they'd set him up for a run in NJPW while he was still technically under WWE contract? The hell's that all about? That bit sounded like HHH wanted something like that to happen, maybe some sort of talent partnership or some other thing, or some other promotional tactic, but he will never be allowed to do that as long as Vince is alive, especially after it effectively lost them Chris Jericho. Wasn't Johnny Ace someone who was known to try and help talent get a foot in the door at Japanese promotions? I recall him doing that with one unhappy talent, but can't remember who.

Yeah, if I heard right Johnny Ace was pretty much the AJPW gaijin liaison for a good while. I could see a situation where he'd put a good word in for guys who were wrapping up their WWE runs or not having their contracts renewed. Still weird that apparently Trips would talk to Brodie about NJPW but while Brodie was still under contract.

Didn't Jericho start his most recent NJPW run when he was still under WWE Contract? And apparently with Vince's blessing?

The hell's that all about? I think Vince is starting to influence hhh. HHH - Hey Finn, can Harper play in your little club over in Japan? Finn: Sorry fella I'm not in... Hhh: that's it back to NXT with you! Hhh - Hey AJ, can Harper play in your little club over in Japan? AJ: wtf? Hhh: Oh it's like that, well you're going one on one with the undertaker playa Gallows and Anderson just look hopefully at hhh hoping to be punished in the same way but their boss knows the revival can't help him.

The way Jericho scoffs at Triple H claiming to have any sort of relationship with New Japan is very telling. Jericho has been working with NJPW semi-regularly, and surely given his stature in the industry would be aware if that was actually a thing. I feel like Triple H is talking about what he wants to do and not what he actually CAN do.

Triple H was lying to Brodie Lee to keep him from causing more problems.

Yeah, I believe his actual contract had ended around Mania that year.
