And on last wednesday, he also seemed out of character when he was talking about Archer on commentary, its a bit weird considering Cody was against whiny babyfaces, i wonder whats the goal with Cody acting whiny(like WWE faces), heel turn?, an angle that helps him man up?.

Force ghost of Dusty Rhodes is going to appear and get his ass in gear after a tough losing streak.

He's not being whiny if he's right. Archer's had no matches yet, and they already had Butcher and Blade get shit on by fans for just popping up and getting their hands on Cody without doing anything to earn that kind of spot.
Matt being in Blood and Guts is at least him being chosen for it, Lance just showed up and demanded preferential treatment. Besides, a good heel has something to gripe about, so let him and Jake seethe.

Some guy with no history in AEW (or any real kayfabe championship accomplishments in a major American wrestling promotion.....and no I don’t think his TNA or NWA tag reigns count for when they happened) shows up and tries to make a name for himself off of Cody
I don’t think it’s whiny to point out the truth especially when he’s being respectful about the mans talent

This will make Archer attack Cody. I like this angle where Cody is ignoring Archer, which is only gonna further piss him and Jake off. It's like a storm that's brewing in the background that Cody is failing to notice. And when it hits, he's gonna regret doing so. This also gives Jake more ammo in his promos, which is only a positive.

Hopefully leads to Archer beating him at the next PPV.

I like how AEW let's things play out. This is one week of writing, and he's already "whiny". Obviously Cody and Jake have laid something that's going to play out over months maybe, especially with all the time they have.

Hangman comes to mind, if Cody will struggle like him then I can dig it.

My fiancee and I thought that Cody came across very believably as someone being forced to make a decision when he was still coming down from the adrenaline of a wrestling match. Definitely sounded like we've heard ourselves or friends sound when exhausted from something - and Kenny and Cody in particular have tended to sell things like that, so that seems plausibly intentional.

He’s buckling or trying to deflect the gravity of the situation but in doing so, will only give more legitimacy to Jake’s claims.

Yeah, the pitch seems to be, Cody has just taken a breath after his whole plan to get his match with Max and do his victory lap blew up in his face and realized all his friends borderline hate each other and is trying to deal with that. So now Jake Roberts is here with Lance Archer and previously Cody would have dropped everything to deal with this right now, but he knows he needs to get the Elite a big win so he's got to put that to the side for Blood and Guts.
However to Roberts it looks like Cody is ducking Archer.

That's not whiny, he's being purposely disrespectful. Which makes sense since that's what Jake did to him.

The rankings system is dumb.
One of those things that don’t really matter until someone says it does.
Cody just lost a major match and can’t seem to pick up a win unless it’s against Kip or Havoc, why is he still “top five” or why does Sammy get a AAA title shot and not Darby?
I’m fine with them using the win loss records in cometary, but rankings always seemed lame.

I don't see it as whiny at all. I think both sides are playing the angle perfectly.
More Jake the Snake by the fire vignettes as he gets more and more pissed off Cody won't face Lance, please.

I’m fine with them using the win loss records in cometary, but rankings always seemed lame. He has won almost all of his TV matches, so sure, he lost to Jericho and MJF, but his losses are still relatively rare. That adds up. Now, if you think he ought not rank due to his self-imposed refusal to challenge for the AEW title again, that's one thing, but he's lost, what, two singles matches in AEW? That's better than anyone outside of Jericho or Moxley can point to. His other losses have been in multi-man matches, and even though, he's only had a few, while competing quite often. As for the AAA title match, I imagine that comes down to who AAA wants to get a shot, not AEW, like how Jack Evans got a shot despite not winning much in AEW at the time, just some 6 man tags, but he's someone AAA fans have a lot of history with. Sammy, they don't, but I could see his style being pretty interesting to AAA fans. That said, I'd love to see Kenny vs Darby for the title, or even just in general, that'd be pretty cool.

Besides, a good heel has something to gripe about, so let him and Jake seethe. to be fair though I think it was more of hearing excaliber exclaim "It's the Blade!. oh and here's the butcher. and the bunny!" and expecting everyone to just know who they were. extra confusion thrown in given how it was only 1 week earlier allie was interviewed as a face, kong cut a lock of hair off her and the next week she's the Bunny with no explanation. the reveal of them being MJF's hired goons to take cody out gave them the reason for getting involved with cody despite no previous history. as far as cody/archer. it's not so much about archer yet as is it jake and cody. cody's too wary of jake to take anything he says at face value so giving jake what he wants by giving archer a match to cody could mean he's doing what jake wants which puts him at a disadvantage right off the bat. once jake is living rent free in cody's head then he can release archer to finish the job. until then jake will play the victim and keep needling cody who is already stretched thin due to Blood and Guts. or jake wants cody to go through thatfirst so he'll be physically weakened making him easier prey for Archer. and if/when Archer takes out cody- well he just took out the poster boy of AEW so that should rocket archer into the title picture which one would think is jake's endgame.

I actually like this
It makes sense in story and in the company with wins and losses being a thing that matters. Now, you can bring up Harlow/Cody but MJF made that match as part of a sanction which Cody accepted.
Tho this does open up the door to who approves the matches. While Cody may be right, he is still only a wrestler and despite his record, a win over him is big but still only equals one win for Archer if anything

I do think they're currently, subtly planting seeds for a Cody heel turn down the road. If his currently PPV losing streak continues with Lance Archer, whom I assume he'll be facing at Double or Nothing II (if it happens, that is). I expect that shortly after that, the whiny routine will intensify, leading to an inevitable heel turn in the Summer/Fall.
