I've tried to be a good mom and limit his wrestling exposure. Violent and all. But he's caught bits and pieces of it. I even *gasp* got him a Rey Mysterio action figure for Xmas. Well, the boy is very into John Cena. Yeah. I know I know.. it's terrible ! He does the "can't see me" thing and yells "the champ is here" when he sees Cena. I figure, fine.. just don't let him watch for a while right ? So the hockey game is on and between plays they have the music piped into the arena. What's playig ? Cena's entrance song. My child (5 years old) stops playing with his train track, looks at the TV and says "that's John Cena's song" I think I liked it better when he was doing flying headbutts off the top of the sofa and yelling "Chris Benoit" on his way down

Eh, don't worry... Cena isn't the worst wrestler ever and we all like crap wrestlers when we were kids... hell, for a while I was into The Warrior...

I wouldn't worry yet, but if he tries to put you in the STFU ...

Your child could do worse than Cena, really. You can't fault him, he's just liking who they want him to. With any luck it'll just be a phase. Still, as a wrestling fan and a parent that has to be tough on you.

Show him Hard Gay and he will forget Cena.
I am dead serious about this, he is very popular with the kids.

I noticed this too.
They should give Sydney Crosby Cena's old rapper gimmick.

Don't worry about it. My little cousin is into both Cena and Mysterio. When he gets older i'm sure he will grow out of it. At least he's not yeling suc it and doing crotch chops.

There's nothing wrong with it. We taught my son to do the "You Can't See Me" thing. Though we don't let him watch wrestling.

As long as he isn't dressing like Melina, and prancing around like Torrie Wilson, he is fine.

I seriously came home from work and my son was watching the London/Bentley ladder match from ROH Unscripted DVD.
It's funny..because he is a mark..but still likes mostly things that smarks in general appreciate.

Most Cena fans are under the age of 11, so your son meets the status quo.

He's five, every five year old likes Cena. Don't worry, in a few years he'll grow out of it (hopefully).

Whenever Cena wins, just start rioting.
Hopefully, the boy will get the hint.

WAIT! HOLD THE PHONE! THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO TEACH YOUR SON SOME NEUTRALITY AND TOLERANCE! You don't like Cena, fine. Let him like Cena. Sure, subtly drop hints about your dislike of him, but let him like who he likes. With some good parenting, he'll appreciate it more when you do show him more wrestling, like ROH. He'll also learn at least a small bit of tolerance for those who have different opinions. Because, at that age, he'll do what you do. Then, that will carry on for later in life.
