Yeah, I said it
At this point as much as I loved Devils Sky and its final boss type theme, it took me a while to like Battle Cry and every time it comes on I like it even more and more
Both themes fit Kenny Omega and I wouldn't mind a rendition of Devil Sky whenever he turns heel but Battle Cry does feel like a theme for a special wrestler (the intro helps with that)

I think maybe it's because I started watching NJPW more on the tail end of Omega's run there, like the last year and a half of him working there, but like with Nakamura, I didn't get attached enough to his theme there to mind the change. I tend to think of Battle Cry as his theme more.

It'll be hard for me to see Devil's Sky topped for a little while because I still attach that theme to his WK 11 entrance; as amazing as Omega's performance during the G1 finals before that WK was (seriously, his back to back nights against Naito and Goto still might be the best consecutive night performance I've ever seen), when he entered at the Tokyo Dome with the Terminator font and the flames all over the big screen, it was like "This dude has arrived", which only got driven home that much more when he and Okada proceeded to turn the wrestling world upside down.
However, like I've been saying in AEW show threads, that could change if/when Kenny gets his hands on the AEW title and goes on an extended run as the ace champion; Battle Cry has the right feel to it, it just needs to be attached to a few more epic moments, and "Final Boss Kenny arrives for his next title defense" could do it.

Yea, going into WK 11 I was still unsure on if he was ready and after that event, it was exactly what he needed to really take him over the top and show he's not too far away from actually being champ When he does get to become AEW champ, you let him go ahead and be the beast you know he is. While I never cared for their matches, him and Cody might still be the most emotional storyline they can go for. Omega was already ahead of him in NJPW and in AEW they technically started on the same level and Omega passed him therefore leading to major jealousy ala what they are doing with Page

It took me a while, as I wasn't a fan of Battle Cry at the beginning. But now, I feel it's one of the best themes in wrestling, currently.

IMO, it got better when they replaced the video of Sad Kenny walking through Shibuya with him doing his thing.

Devil's Sky works better as a heel theme and I think I still like it more as an actual song than Battle Cry. That said, Battle Cry works a lot better for his current face persona and I also like the song on its own merits.

Naw can't agree
Devil's Sky has this magnitude to it that rises it above being just a song where as battle cry is not a bad song but it is just a good wrestling theme.
Devil's Sky is a final boss anthem.

Devil's Sky is a final boss anthem. I've sometimes imagined someone putting together a circa 2017-2018 NJPW JRPG, and Devil's Sky is basically what would play as you fight "Terminator" Kenny, who's lost his attachment to Ibushi in some way and thus has made himself a remorseless killing machine. ...You'd also have to do a really emotional battle built around Tanahashi against Suzuki, but that's another story.

Nothing tops Devil's Sky, so you can imagine where Battle Cry stands.

To be honest I really find them both completely forgettable.

Devils Sky doesn't have shibuya crossing. A weeb and his backpack is truly the aesthetic we all need!

Just look at the first couplet of Battle Cry. That's my opinion.

I like Battle Cry, but Devil’s Sky just had this aura of gravitas and intensity to it that’s hard to match

"Battle Cry" is his character theme in the sequel, though, when he's a party member. That works; it's his redemption theme. Naito would also be a character to fight, but he'd be shockingly easy and fight you in a t-shirt when you meet him and LIJ earlier on. Then you get to the final level, ready to face the heretofore unseen Okada, but some guy in a theater mask, white suit, and cape is already there, looking to beat you to the challenge...
