Absolutely not, in Savage's case. Savage was one of the many guys on Andre's sh*tlist. I believe the story on Bret and Shawn is that they were friends or at least cordial up through the build to WM12, when tension started because they worked themselves into a shoot--their plan was to cut little shoot-like jabs at each other to try to work the boys in addition to the fans, and of course that completely blew up. For the main event and semi-main event run in '92, they seemed to be fine. Haha. What did Macho do to annoy the Giant? I know Hogan claimed part of it was Andre didn't like how Savage would treat Elizabeth, but I mean, that's Hogan talking. Even though Hogan was close to both men around the time, he obviously is prone to lying and obviously had his disagreements with Savage over the years.

My guess would have something to do with Savage wanting to plan out matches spot by spot, and Andre not wanting to have to remember it all.

They usually got along, but definitely not always. The "took your ball and went home" promo was definitely not exactly a warm hug. They would be in each other's good graces later, but not at that time. Similarly, Triple H and Foley generally got along, despite Foley being a Bret friend, but there was at least one time they definitely were at odds. Hunter had made some kind of asinine comment about no one helping him get over, probably directed more at Austin who supposedly had refused to do so in '99, but Mick pointed out that Foley had put Triple H over repeatedly, especially in early 2000. They seem to usually get along alright outside of that heated exchange. Also Steve basically admitted he couldn't stand The Rock at first because he was just a kid who was still learning the ropes and was annoying him because of how many questions he asked but that's pre main event The took your ball and go home stuff really didn't have much effect on the relationship anyway since Austin came back and Rock ended up being his last match and he wanted to put Rock over. Also the whole "I love you" in the middle of the ring as Rock kept pushing away Earl so he couldn't hear him and Steve convo at Mania after the match Steve flat out said in his book that Rock is one of a VERY small list of people he considers a friend (with probably only Foley, Regal and Bret being the others). That "took your ball" line was 100% Vince speaking through him. No way he cared that much to come up with that himself at that point since he was 90% out the door himself.

Yea, for as much of a hard ass Steve was and even he will admit to not being easy to get along with, you can tell him and Rock clicked on a different level. For as competitive as the attitude era was, neither guy went out there to sabotage each other or even do little shit to hurt one another Would be interesting to actually one day have them sit down and just talk. When Steve did it with Hogan you could tell how much fun he was having

Andre wanted to call things in the ring while Savage wanted everything mapped out I think even Vince admitted to saying Andre did not like Savage

Weren't Sid and Shawn cool around 1996-97?
I mean, he didn't want to drop the title at all and then finally said yes to Sid. So he must've liked him somewhat.

From what I heard Shawn needed a monster to drop the belt to so he could get it back at Royal Rumble 97 in his hometown. Shawn hated Vader so Sid was the lesser of two evils. Shawn liked Sid at least better than he liked Vader.

Yea, Hogan said Andre hated Savage and Jake Jake's own brother Sam Houston said Andre hated Jake. Jake said on TIJ this year that he and Andre used to play cards together. So between 2 known HOF liars in Jake and Hogan we have to look to... Sam Houston as the tie breaker.

I think it is one of those things in the middle Good chance Andre just liked beating the piss outta them. Savage def due to his high strung nature but Jake and Andre just didn't mash in the ring tho who really did with Andre at that time

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I feel like Andre got along pretty good with Hogan and Macho. Bruce Prichard said Randy used to hate wrestling Andre cause Andre would rip Randy's hair out during their matches. And the Macho Man didn't have much hair left, DIG IT?!

The list of people in the business that were on Andre's good side is incredibly short. He tolerated a number of them, but there just weren't a lot he genuinely liked, especially after the changeover from Vince Sr to Jr.
And even the ones that were kinda-sorta on Andre's good side HATED wrestling him. He did not go out of his way to protect others, he would manhandle them without provocation and generally just did whatever he wanted to them in the ring.

According to the Andre documentary, Savage would put on too much baby oil on his body. Andre would tell Savage to get a towel and wipe it off.

Does anyone have heat with Kane? Everyone? But especially Jim Ross:

Nash and Taker used to visit strip clubs together in spite of company policy. Taker and Yoko were also tight.
Bret and Piper were tight, supposedly distant relatives. Bret is one of the few people who Piper was willing to lay down for which says a lot.

I could see that happening, I remember one of their matches on the Unreleased DVD where Andre gives Savage (who was WWF Champ at the time) no offense whatsoever and wins by DQ when Savage has to grab a chair. As for this thread, I'd say Steamboat and Flair, from what I understand they always liked each other and always spoke highly of one another in interviews.
