![](https://i.imgur.com/9LiyFKe.jpg) This reveal is up there. Although he did redeem himself by changing the look the following week but still it had me wondering what were they thinking.

There were so many wonderful layers to Shockmaster's debut that I'm not sure if anything comes close. The Gooker was.. unfortunate, but, at the very least, everything that happened was supposed to. With poor Fred you had the tripping, the $4 costume, Ole laughing at the start of the promo, his gestures not syncing up with Ole's words, the mic picking up the other guys talking about it (He fell on his f***ing arse!)..
GOAT.

Ok the Shockmaster was supposed to be a main eventer before it botched. So I’m going with the brawl for all, the moment Dr Death’s career ended.

Would Funkasaurus Brodus Clay be considered the Anti-Shockmaster?

Sin Cara's debut may be the closest immediate disaster comparable to Shockmaster. After months of promos, the hype for the new Rey Mysterio, here he finally comes… ...aand he trips on the rope and almost falls on his head. I agree with this. He was the first big Triple H hire too so not only was he touted as their next big Hispanic star, he was the first big name that Triple H signed, the the first wave of the next generation and damn did he flop hard out the gate.

Tensai comes to mind but there wasn't really a single botch moment that ruined him, despite us all looking for one. In terms of someone being given a bit of a spotlight and then the performer screwing up I'd say the Genesis of McGillicutty. I agree on the Genesis of McGillicutty. The big brawl where people were attacking the wrong people and Bray Wyatt (Husky Harris) was the only one who seemed to be doing the right thing in beating up Kaval. Even to the point that Cole has to say “can someone look at Husky Harris” which seems like Vince talking through him. To this day, I think they were going to have another faction like Nexus which would have been callled Genesis with McGillicutty/Axel as the leader and they just scrapped it all after the total disaster.

I was gonna say fake Kane. Apologies if it's already been mentioned in this thread, but that was awful. Looked like a freaking Walmart Kane costume.
