Nice. I loved the original Goosebumps TV series as a kid although watching them as an adult made me realise how bad the acting is. Looking forward to the new series.

The first movie was really good. The second was downright subpar. Hopefully this show takes more after the first.

And yet there Animorphs sits in Scholastic's vault, getting a couple graphic novel re-dos and nothing more.
...yes, I realize an Animorphs adaptation that isn't set in the 90s is a lot tougher to pull off, but screw off, I need Ax losing his mind over Cinnabon in glorious 4K.

A selfish person like me would want Jack Black to do wrap around stuff. Get that dude some cash and just let him riff Alfred Hitchcock/Cryptkeeper style as RL Stine.

There have been movie plans for years but it's been in development hell.

The Haunted Mask episode of the original show scared me so much as a kid.
Poor Carly Beth!

A Goosebumps revival and So Weird together on the same platform with Disney Plus. The 90s kid in me would rejoice in terms of sci fi/horror kids shows from that era.

That's the frustrating part of this. The last new book adapted was Bride of the Living Dummy from 1998. There's been over 50 books past that book that could be adapted. But I also kind of see why they're doing this. A recurring cast and a serialized plot would be more practical and less expensive. I just really hope it isn't just The Slappy Show. If you're going to make a series based on Goosebumps, at least commit to more than just the dummy. Don't do what the first movie did and have all these amazing character designs and just have them hang in the background while we implement like three of them in the story itself. Like, you have deep cuts like Cronby and Professor Shock and they just sit in the background?

An Amazon Animorphs show has been my dream for awhile now. Recently re-read them and they surprisingly hold up pretty well. As Rachel would say, "Let's do it!"

Amazon would be a fine choice and weirdly fitting to give the big Scholastic three shows on three major platforms (BabySitters Club is on Netflix while Goosebumps is coming to Disney+)

Agreed on both points. For better or worse these sound like a do-over of the movies except our heroes are now the original protagonists' kids; a shared Goosebumps universe where past stories took place around this one town. I guess the monsters at least will be "real"?
So many cool designs left on the table in that one shot. Nice to have as an Easter egg but offered up as a sacrifice to His Slappyness.

My interest has dropped. I dont a story driven series full of references and random goosebumps monsters showing up.
Just give me an anthology series of the best books new and old. Granted, the last one I read was Clown Street (pretty good) but im sure theres other good new ones
