Ya know that band you love but you rarely hear anyone mention them in person or online....
For me it is The Browns, the Western Canada based horror punk band.
Warning might be some cussing or whatever in the songs.
Figured this might be a decent way to discover more artists that don't get the attention they deserve.

I doubt many people outside of Canada know who Great Big Sea are, but they're a great Atlantic Canadian folk band.

Sidney Gish writes some of the catchiest guitar pop I’ve heard in ages:

I don't know how popular Greek Fire is outside of the STL area, but they have some awesome arena style rock.

The Hit Parade, one of the more uncool C86/twee pop bands. They're pretty local to me, so they're not just purveyors of sparkly pop music but something I've never really experienced, people who spoke and thought like me writing songs about places I knew and the middle-class, suburban world in which I grew up. Their chief songwriter even took his childhood holidays in the Westcountry like I did.

I’m a big fan of a indie punk band local to me in the north-east of England called Martha. The song below from their most recent album seemed the most appropriate choice to recommend as it’s called WrestleMania VII and they have a cool merch t shirt with a picture of a young Roddy Piper on the front. youtu.be/bskvx1YVMq4

I doubt many people outside of Canada know who Great Big Sea are, but they're a great Atlantic Canadian folk band. Oh the night that Paddy Murphy died was a night I'll never forget. Some of the boys got loaded drunk and they ain't been sober let. As long as the bottle was past around every man was feeling gay, O'Leary came with the bagpipes and some music for to play... Love GBS! Had the pleasure to see them several times and each show was a joy.

Mishka Shubaly. He’s not a band. He’s a guy. I discovered him because he’s friends with Doug Stanhope and they used two of his songs for the intro and outro of Stanhope’s podcast.
He has albums out. And books. But he’s not famous. Or rich. He’s not above doing shows in backyards.
I’m not sure how you’d ever find him.

It depends what you mean by "very few people" but I guess I'd go with The Mountain Goats. Plus they wrote an album all about pro wrestling! Also this song has been especially poignant recently for obvious reasons.

White Arms Of Athena. They put out a record on Prosthetic, but flown super under the radar. Awesome mix of slower, ethereally beautiful songs with some ferocious metal mixed in.

I have a loooot of bands like this. Like at least half or more of the bands/artists I listen to, and I listen to a whole lot of shit.
Neon Blonde was a side project of the post-hardcore band The Blood Brothers. Real weird shit, definitely not for everyone. Johnny Whitney's vocals are either a love it or hate it kind of situation. But I love this shit.

Trees of Eternity was a goth-doom metal band made up of members of Swallow the Sun, Katatonia and October Tide. Their first and only album is beautifully melancholic, carried by the soothing vocals of Aleah Stanbridge. But tragically, Aleah died of cancer before the album could even be released.
Aside from that: I listen to a ton of obscure metal, and probably the most obscure band in my library is Brazilian prog-metal band Myatan. How obscure are they? They have no videos on Youtube, and their album 'Dreams of Gods and Man' isn't even on iTunes anymore, which is where I bought it originally.
