Corey Lewandoeski has tested positive for Covid-19. Yeah, that election night party was a superspreader event.

Humanity deserves to go extinct. At this point, we need the vaccine to protect us from ourselves.

Governor's talking about more mandatory stay at home orders being a necessity soon. We had 12,000+ new cases today.

I like how for 9 months the Governor of Iowa is like "Iowans do the right thing. I trust they will take the proper precautions." And nearly every day it's gotten worse.
My state is the very definition of "We've tried nothing and we are all out of ideas."

So I’m watching American Heroes Channel and right now it’s airing a series called How the World Ends. This particular episode’s title? “Pandemic Pandemonium.”
A quick Google search says that the episode premiered in 2017. Watching it in light of what we’re going through now is almost creepy, especially when they talk about asymptomatic people, social distancing, quarantines, and the lack of a vaccine.

Until we actually start fining or arresting people for acting like selfish douches, nothing will change.
FYI, my wife’s uncle is now on a ventilator, is getting the full drug treatment, and it’s looking pretty bad right now.

If you want to sum up 2020 in a single picture...... Personally at this point I believe I should get legal immunity to hit these assholes with a f***ing Tiger Uppercut if they choose to be selfish assholes and then willingly enter my personal space bubble. Enter at your own risk mother f***ers...demilitarized zone ended two feet ago now catch these hands. I don’t even want to have to start throwing haymakers...I don’t wish these people harm. That’s why I do everything I can to NOT get these same people sick while I’m at work or shopping or anything else. I’m just sick of some of these arrogant bastards proving to me they couldn’t care less if I get sick or my family gets sick. It’s bad enough I’ve already missed an extra month of work because the damn children I work with can’t behave and keep getting sick...but I can’t afford to miss 2-4 more weeks of work because of fools that god forbid can’t behave while being drunken assholes.

So many posts I want to quote right now...
I just booked my work trip to Chicago for the first week of December. This is going to be fun. I have the essential worker letter already. I have this feeling that moving of our Chicago office is going to get postponed until after January 1 when I don't have time to do it due to other projects.
Iowa's governor needs to be recalled at this point, which will never happen. She literally didn't say a damn thing or hold a press conference about COVID for a month and then this week just sort of shrugged and said, "People please wear masks but I'm not going to issue an order." A reported called her out on her inaction and it was responded to with, "I've been traveling the state and going on radio shows." Yeah, to campaign for Orange Julius and Joni Ernst. I thought Iowa was bad a month ago and it has just gotten worse.
I'd kill for a 4.8 percent positivity rate right now in Illinois.
A couple of weeks ago, I was optimistic that we'd kick out locally, it isn't happening. Last week, the hospital administrators of the two big hospitals here practically begged people to act right. Since then, the hospitalization rate has gone up. They are almost at capacity. We are getting closer to the finish line with each day that passes, but we just can't get our collective shit together to cross it as one. I guess it will be considerably easier to get the vaccine in a few months if the population is significantly reduced.
I've been a bit more optimistic than most on here, I think. I kept thinking this could be our finest hour as a species. It still might be with looking at our speed and efficacy of the development of these vaccines and treatments, but it sure as hell won't be for our empathy and responsibility.

Idiot brother, who has previously been quoted as saying that "the state can't make people wear masks", has now been quoted as asking "Why can't people just do what they're told?". Shit has hit the fan. Of course, he also thinks he's immune, so yeah.
I've been hearing rumblings of a crackdown on braindead milkshakes wandering around maskless, one that may already be in effect. One of the bigger offenders up here is a gas station less than 10 minutes down the road from me, where people have been frequently sighted entering and exiting without masks. Tonight apparently that was not the case. Hopefully they nab another prime offender site a few minutes down the road from there.

My state is the very definition of "We've tried nothing and we are all out of ideas." Covid Kim was hoping for a Trump win so she could get a cabinet position. I'm only hoping that once Biden takes office, she does something responsible. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

My brother got diagnosed today. Luckily, he doesn't seem to have it bad--he's had a cough and itchy throat for a few days and today lost his smell.
He expected he was gonna get it because there was an outbreak at the carehome he worked at.

If you want to sum up 2020 in a single picture...... Staten Island proving more and more that it's the trash borough of NYC, and not just because of all the landfills and the smell.

Mom started talking about future stay at home orders. I say, "Well, yeah, they have to do something, people are too stupid to be smart."
...I think I've finally hit the perfect mix of sleep deprived and stressed to stop making sense even to myself.

482 new cases in the Republic of Ireland and seven deaths(although you have up to three months to register a death here) so we are definitely well down and suppressing the virus although we need to keep going and hospital numbers aren’t going up thankfully. They are slowly going down. And I don’t know how many are familiar with Northern Ireland and all its quirks but suffice to say the politicians up there don’t get on(not getting on is being kind) and that’s bad given Northern Ireland isn’t handling it well and they can’t even agree on the how long to extend the measures or whether to end them.

I kept seeing this guy at the store Saturday wandering around maskless, and I was going out of my way to avoid walking anywhere close to him. Then while I was waiting for him to move, he started walking towards me to ask if I was in line for the cash register, when I'd already answered him that no, I was not. I grabbed my cart, told him "Sir, stay AWAY from me", spun that cart around and got out of there as fast as I could. It's only ever the maskless people who like getting way too close. Ugh.

Man yall are lucky. Locally even when the mask mandate was in effect it was at most 50% of the people wearing them. Almost no local business bothered to enfore the mandate. And with or without a mask people kept getting way way too close to each other.
But that is what happens when the state spends more money on school sports than say text books. Back in the early 90s I got placed in Honor's History class. Our text books were from 64 or 65....
