In Louisiana the Attorney General is saying that forcing students to wear masks when school re opens in a violation of the rights. I’m just dumbfounded at how stupid people are. Does he even realize that a good portion of the teachers are in the at risk group and by doing this he is putting them in danger So mandating that someone wear something in public is a violation of their rights according to the chief law officer of LA? I guess Bare Ass Thursday’s are back on! Go to town hall wearing nothing but a mask (there’s a pandemic going on, after all)!

Yep, if a store tells you "no shirt, no shoes, no service", you can go in without a shirt and/or shoes. If they tell you to leave, just tell them that being forced to wear them "infringes on your freedums", cuz Murica!

OMG, I just had someone explain their reasoning against wearing masks. It both makes sense and is easily the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
Essentially, it boils down to this: They said that if you conceal carry, it is a felony to do so while wearing a mask. That may or may not be entirely accurate (I am leaning towards that being right), but essentially they are saying that they don't want to prevent the spread of the deadly pandemic because they want to be able to carry guns wherever they go.
I really am beginning to think I am not cut out for this country. I was very interested in trying to change it for the better, but I will go insane if I have to deal with these people as much as I do for any longer. Unfortunately, no country is letting Americans in for me to leave even if I chose that pathway.

All kinds of businesses have mask requirements and such but aren't upholding them at all. My brother went to Dollar General yesterday and despite a mask requirement being listed on the door and an occupancy limit of 14 people, neither of those was being even slightly accounted for and there were just a ton of people in the building taking zero precautions, including the cashiers. Then this morning we went to Foodland. Had a mask requirement on the door and when we went in people were acknowledging it, but as we were there there started being more people popping up not wearing them and the guy behind us in line didn't even have a freaking shirt. Same here, and good ol' Wally World's a prime offender. I've been in there all of once since this started, and the amount of people walking around not wearing a mask was pretty unnerving. We're not far away from the state epicenter, there's been quite a few cases up here, and these braindead milkshakes are just wandering around spreading whatever deity's listening today knows what. The grocery stores aren't much better.

So... are we allowed to talk about the fact that virus data is now being kept from the CDC and going straight to the White House? Bodies are going to start disappearing from hospitals without being listed. This is some straight up communist China level government tampering.

Our school district contracts their school bus driving to a company called First Student. First Student had a meeting this week about going back to school. Drivers were told they should not wear masks because it would make it more difficult for students to hear their instruction on the bus and scare younger students. They were also told that they will not be receiving disinfecting supplies or stopping to do so after routes, because it would take too long and interrupt the tight but schedules and they don't have time to do it in the morning or evening either. I know a bunch of school bus drivers for the district (I used to live with two even), and I can tell you most of our drivers are what you would call trailer trash rednecks. Most of them turned up to the training meeting without masks and were of the opinion that they were "unconstitutional".
We're f***ed.
On an only mildly related note, we have a major surge in QAnon support in town too. Starting to see the bumper stickers popping up all over town.

Store employees have gotten assaulted for doing so all across the country.

This is my simple take. People have a right to refuse to wear masks. That can't be taken away.
Stores / Businesses / ETC. Have a right to require you to wear a mask for entry / ETC.
Both are true. You have a right to not wear a mask, but you have no right to avoid any consequences from that decision. Stores requiring you to wear a mask isn't taking away your freedom. It's still there.

The biggest problem there lies in the attitude that some have that if you don’t want to be near then while they don’t wear a mask then to steer clear. Soooo...by their logic...if I’m walking down a street and it’s packed I should cross the street and avoid them. Easily done at the park...impossible on the busiest street in town when all of the tourists are traveling in roaming mobs and not giving a damn. I do agree with where you’re coming from though although others refuse to see it that way. People have to expect consequences to their personal choices.

Greeter: Excuse me, per store policy I cannot allow you entrance if you do not have a mask. Would-be patron: Muh Freedum!!! [pulls out knife and stabs greeter]

Wanna have a fun conversation..
Trump Administration Strips C.D.C. of Control of Coronavirus Data
Hospitals have been ordered to bypass the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and send all patient information to a central database in Washington, raising questions about transparency. Also all of the hospital data is no longer public as far as ICU, beds etc...Donald Trump is going to hide all the information so he can pretend it went away and milk dumb American's into believing it for his re-election. He is also going to withhold this information from governors so they'll just do what he wants and everything will be open...
All the man cares about is how the corona virus directly effects him, nothing else.

What's going to happen if they ignore that dumbass and violently irresponsible order?

Yeah, people working at Walmart, Dollar General, Target, CVS, and grocery stores, don't make nearly enough to even try to babysit people. And if they say "You need a mask", and those people not wearing will say "Medical condition" and that's the end of it.

I'm confused by the logic of: "Wearing a mask violates your rights but exposing everybody to a deadly virus doesn't violate anybody's rights" "I DECIDE WHAT I CAN DO WITH MY BODY unless I'm a woman!"

The idiot governor of Georgia banned gatherings of 50+ people... so how the f*** is our school opening up 'as normal'? Last time I checked, we have just bit more than 50. I don't think anything anyone in power is doing in Georgia makes a bit of sense. When Alabama is making smarter decisions than your state, you know you f***ed up. And I say that as someone who was born and raised in Alabama.

You know what is sad? I am currently at home on medical leave but have been in on daily meetings helping to develop the University's comprehensive testing program for COVID-19, of which I will be heavily involved. I can state with certainty that I will be in contact with positive samples and I feel infinitely safer going to work handling positive samples than I do simply going to the damned gas station or grocery store because of all of those who refuse to wear a mask because their hero won't. If I get sick, it won't be from work. It will be from my son working at Lowe's, where on a good day only 50% there wear masks (outside of the employees, of course).
