Holy shit, Batman!
This is terrible!
Also as much as I hate that the new Batwoman is a Toby Maguire Spider-Man wannabe, I think I hate Arrowverse Batman even more. They got it so right with Superman and Supergirl, and yet they're getting this so wrong.
One of the two chicks that are dating that both used to date Batwoman should have taken over the mantle. Aren't they both badass milirtary chicks? And we already have kind of an emotional investment in them as audience members. I hate the new girl. This is like when they replaced Eric Foreman. Shark jumped, lol.

New Batwoman sucks. I really dislike Ryan. She has zero likeability. Dont know why they didnt just have one of the characters we know take the costume.
Alice is still cool. Im cheering for Alice. Hope she wins. Go Alice

..... I liked her......
Like, I'm enjoying a more light hearted bat-family member and honestly she feels a lot more likeable than Kate, which is saying a lot for me since I honestly thought Kate got pretty great by the end of the season. Plus I'm kinda digging how the dynamics of the cast has changed with Kate missing. Honestly, I'm liking the change a hell of a lot more than I thought I would when I originally heard their ideas. I say give it a chance for a bit longer.
Of course, I'm also super forgiving when comics and shows change things up in unexpected ways. Hell, I enjoyed Jim Gordon as Batman during his short stint.

I want the retool the succeed so that we get to see more Bat Family characters popup. Basically, the ones that the movies will probably never ever touch (which, I guess would be anyone not named "Dick Grayson" or "Barbara Gordon").

That was so so bad.
And they passed up Green Arrow and the Canaries to get stuck with this trash.
Please don't f*** up StarGirl.

I keep saying they should've had it be Poison Ivy taking up the mantle since she talks to a plant and cares more for it than others

It was awful. I don't think I'll keep watching. Maybe I'll give it one more episode but I'm wavering. I know it isn't the fault of the showrunners they had to recast tough break all around. Maybe they should have canceled or changed focus instead (brought in Ivy or Quinn as the lead) it might have been for the best rather than shoehorning in a new lackluster, out of leftfield, replacement Batwoman.

Didn’t care for that at all. I’ll give it a couple episodes, but the only things I cared about in this one are the threads carried over from Season 1. Which is pretty much everyone related to Kate. It would’ve made so much more sense for Julia to take over as lead, assuming the actress is available for such a demanding role

Haven't watched it yet. Honestly forgot it was on last night. I'll catch it on DVR.
It was going against an NFL game, so that likely affected things. CW also did a pretty shitty job of promotion TBH and the rest of the Arrowverse shows are in this weird pandemic limbo. But the season premiere only did about 660k total viewers with .1 in the key demo. It's down there with the worst rated episodes of Season 1, which is really bad for a season premiere especially as there wasn't a timeslot change or anything.

I might as well change the title to turn this into a Batwoman discussion thread

I will say, it took Season 1 awhile to find its footing. Perhaps this can turn around, because Season 1 was mostly shit til after Crisis

Speaking of Crisis boy have they pretty much erased that from every show outside of The Flash especially the end.
Bye SuperGirl Bye Black Lightning Bye Kate Kane Batwoman
Bye to that whole Paragons thing as well.
Crisis may as well have never happened now.

So much was upended with the pandemic and in Supergirl's case, no one really planned for how Melissa Benoist's new motherhood would affect her and the show's future. Then again, Supergirl Season 5 was a f***ing mess so maybe it's for the best they quit while the getting's good instead of being cancelled.
Still hoping Ruby Rose eventually comes back as Kate after we're post-pandemic and her physical health issues are firmly in the rearview window. That is if Batwoman doesn't get cancelled this season.

Crisis is likely what led to the ultimate decision of doing a Superman show. And if not for Crisis, Superman wouldn't exist on the same world as Flash and Batman. Also, just because the series of Supergirl and Black Lightning are ending, doesn't mean we don't ever see the characters again.

The other thing with Crisis is even if Supergirl wasn't ending with this season, it's heading into Season 6. Flash and Legends of Tomorrow are also fairly old shows at this point with it being much more likely they end in the next couple of years than becoming another Smallville or Supernatural.
Maybe Crisis was meant to serve as not just a series finale event for Arrow, but also for the larger universe as we knew it. It will be up to newer shows like Batwoman and Superman & Lois to carry the universe forward when Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Legends end. Unfortunately, Black Lightning does seem to be ending prematurely and the crisis with Ruby Rose has made Batwoman's position a lot shakier than it was.
