Holy Crap Batman! I didn't think this could get any worse - but it did. Discovery has a true rival now.

Alice and the interractions between Mary and Luke (I find them a fun pair) are the only things I care about

They appear to be furthering the Kate mystery and offering up some did they/didn't they. {Spoiler}This week, we learn Kate's phone contains a captioned image of a painting that name-drops Safiyah. Safiyah denies blowing up Kate's plane, but hints that a third party was involved and offers Alice proof of this.
Also, the painting is credited to 'Jack Napier', Joker's civilian name in the Burton movies

So, is replacing a Batfamily member with a showrunner's OC working? Genuinely curious.

So, is replacing a Batfamily member with a showrunner's OC working? Genuinely curious. Honestly even if it was a character from the comics, I don't think it would work. Asking viewers to get behind a new main character when the entire draw of the show was "Ruby Rose is Batwoman" was always going to be a massive hurdle.

Right, even if it was say Stephanie Brown you're still replacing the main character and actor of a show that hasn't even really found its footing yet. That was unlikely to ever work.

Glad for Flash and even more for Legends.
lol for Batwoman though the ratings has plummeted for that show but I guess it is something they just have to keep around.
Especially since nothing there mentioned StarGirl.

The ratings are shit by network standards, but they also benefit from being on the CW. The ratings on CW shows are so bad that even with Batwoman underperforming, it's still doing better ratings than most other shows on the network. Their shows also tend to have really good streaming numbers, which is how Dynasty still keeps on going in spite of like, 10 people watching first-run episodes on the CW network.

Not surprising. With COVID still running rampant, and the vaccine not widely available, it's easier to just renew shows that are already in production and have all their ducks in a row. The ratings are shit by network standards, but they also benefit from being on the CW. It's how Legends gets renewed despite their unfortunately low numbers (they should be higher!). It's been said that their streaming numbers are insane, I think it was Flash, Supernatural and Legends as CW's top 3 streamed shows for a few years.

By the time the Walker reboot wraps up, whenever that may be he might have a solid quarter century at one network. Don't see that too often outside of late night hosts, news anchors etc. Kelsey Grammer at NBC is the only actor that springs to mind offhand.

That's the kind of stability and job security that's even more important with a pandemic going on.

Hey Zsasz, this might be cool ...
Nevermind, he's knocked out and defeated by an extending stick in comedic fashion.
