It's RAW tonight from the PC, as the road to Backlash on June 14th continues...
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has been invited onto the VIP Lounge hosted by MVP - in recent weeks, MVP has been looking to reestablish his past relationship with Bobby Lashley, who will challenge McIntyre for the WWE Title at Backlash. Is MVP just setting McIntyre up for an attack by Lashley, or does he have another motive in mind for asking McIntyre on?
About a month ago, Apollo Crews challenged Andrade for the United States Championship, and the end result saw Crews suffer a knee injury that kept him out of the Men's Money in the Bank Match (but perhaps saved him from being thrown off the Titan Tower roof, and then regenerating a day later). Crews returned last week and scored a win over Andrade in a tag team match, and now he'll face Andrade for the US Title once again. Will Crews finally secure his first title in WWE after several years on the main roster?
Asuka will make her first defence of the RAW Women's Championship at Backlash against the winner of tonight's Triple Threat match between NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair, Natalya and Nia Jax. Flair is looking to bounce back from Friday's loss to Bayley on SmackDown, and also get in preparation for another Triple Threat at NXT Takeover: In Your House on June 7th against Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley for the NXT Title. Natalya is looking to erase recent defeats against Shayna Baszler (who somehow isn't in this match), while Nia Jax attacked Kairi Sane last week. Gee I wonder who wins this (not Charlotte for a change)...
Last week saw Zelina Vega cast Austin Theory out of her group following the aforementioned loss by Andrade and Angel Garza against Crews and Kevin Owens, only for Theory to then resurface as Seth Rollins' newest disciple, which may or may not have miffed Murphy off. How will Theory (will he lose the "Austin" from his name) fare in his new environment?
The IIconics fell short in reclaiming the Women's Tag Team Titles from Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross due to Peyton Royce being too aggressive, and following the match, Billie Kay slapped her best friend in the face. Was this the moment the IIconics were forced to change their tactics, or has this started a deeper problem between them?
After a game of basketball and an axe-throwing contest, it's believed that next up for the Street Profits and the Viking Raiders is a game of mini golf. Will these two teams finally agree on having a match for the RAW Tag Team Titles at the end of all this? Or will there be even more badly-written comedy to pad this all out?
All this and more from 8/7c on USA in the States, Sportsnet 360 in Canada, BT Sport in the UK and Ireland, and FOX 8 in Australia.
