I've always wondered how Russ Haas would have done. People spoke very highly of him when he was working his way up.

Not prime in physical, that was well behind him, but as far as what a character could do, Pillman. He would have been a great Attitude Era character. Pillman is a great answer because a lot of the guys cut down in their prime like Gino were great talents, but Pillman was a legitimate innovator.

Buzz Sawyer was a good talent and wrestled for Mid-South, WCW, World Class and even a short stint in the WWF. If not for his drug problems and attitude that came with it he would have reached his full potential.

Lance Cade was only 29 when he died. Test was only 33. Both super young and both were only a few years removed from their WWE runs when they died. Test was only 33!?

Born in 1975 and died in 2009 just four days before his 34th birthday. He was one of the youngest guys on the roster through most of his first run.

This will be random by comparison but....
The ECW Zombie.
Was popular on the indies using the gimmick, but given the times they bring the Boogeyman and such back for Rumbles and skits, I think he would have fit in for WWE guest appearances time to time.
(In fact didn't Edge and Christian reference him often on the last season of their show?)

An indy one nobody talks about much is Chri$h Ca$h. Died in a motor cycle accident and was close to breaking out on the indies. Actually came out that he was going to get a WWE tryout.

Trent Acid probably could've gotten some more spotlight had he lived longer. Maybe even JC Bailey as well.
As far as anyone that had mainstream success, Hennig really probably has to top the list. I think he was severely underbooked in both WWF and WCW. Just my opinion.

Hana Kimura is the first name that comes up, not only because it was recent and I was a huge fan of hers...but she was only 22, it's just tragic.

Louie Spicolli was an active wrestler at the time of his death. I even heard he was supposed to take part in a match at Superbrawl that same year. I heard he was a drug addict, though.

Yep Louie had a real bad drug issue that supposedly even worried some wrestlers who were known for popping pills. Louie was seen as an honorary Kliq member when he was in WWF and did a good job of becoming a fairly hot act with his ECW run. Hall and Nash went to bat to get him in WCW and were doing their best to protect him as a performer. He was supposed to fight Larry Zybysko at SuperBrawl... Hall has also said that they were pushing for Louie to beat DDP for the US title

Someone who didn't die young but was forced to retire. Magnum T.A, was 27 when he had his car accident. He was well on his way to being a main event talent with JCP, can only imagine what he could have done in WCW.

Hall has also said that they were pushing for Louie to beat DDP for the US title I can't remember if it was Jim Ross or Eric Bischoff but one of them mentioned on one of Conrad Thompson's podcasts that Spicolli was very popular in the locker room and in particular with the Kliq because Spicoli used to make frequent trips to Mexico to get pills to share with the boys. It was probably the reason Spicolli was popular in the ECW locker room as well. Sabu got Spicolli booked in Japan and then got Spicolli hired in ECW after accidentally getting Spicolli fired from Japan for throwing a bottle of piss from a bus window in between towns.

I have to wonder how much Spicolli contributed to the escalation of Candido and Sytch's drug issues while he was paired with them. Not blaming him for them, but it certainly could not have helped.

So no comment." That said, they were feuding and Larry was obviously very old school, so I wouldn't expect some kind of warm tribute. Still, probably should have just not even said that much, since it's basically him insulting a dead guy right after he's dead on live TV.

At the time, I took it as Larry not figuring out how to break kayfabe, as he'd been dedicated to it to a fault. This...this makes a lot of sense. Larry was likely not thrilled to know there was a middleman pusher in the locker room. He was from the Bruno "clean as a whistle" club in terms of drugs, as far as I know.
