Also, people keep mentioning SANADA but, he hasn't signed a long-term deal. He's still a freelancer.

I've always been of the unpopular opinion that Naito is not nearly as compelling as champion than when he's chasing. I mean, even after he won at WK, I was happy for him, but my investment in him went down considerably. I was always much more intrigued by the juniors, KENTA, and the tag division than I was in whatever was next for him. Thankfully, it happened to be KENTA who I had been buzzing off since he turned heel. He has a serious case of Stone Cold syndrome. He's a super popular anti-authority wrestler who straddles the line between heel and face but remains a scrappy underdog. Much like Stone Cold, once he wins the belt it feels a little less compelling. If he is going to be chasing EVIL for a bit it should be really fun.

I also think this gives Hiromu a chance to show everyone he's the future ACE we all think he is.

Feels like a lot of seeds are being planted for a potential BOSJ? The blocks would probably have to be pretty small in order to do a compressed schedule like they did with NJC. Would they potentially have the winner challenge for the championship as late as King of Pro Wrestling, or even Wrestle Kingdom? EVIL winning took a bit to digest. Like others, I wish Naito had been able to get in 1-2 more defenses. The New Japan Cup is really where new main eventers get crowned, but to then turn around and have EVIL be the one to beat Naito really cements his status. While not a "pillar," I imagine EVIL will remain one of the top 6 or so heavyweights going forward. Dick Togo coming on board just cements what we've been talking about with the Bullet Club roster as well. SHO vs Shingo was match of the card for me. They have great chemistry together and I'm glad Gedo gave them a program/ongoing feud, but SHO is also an amazing challenger in any singles match. Glad to see the NEVER title getting some shine in a unique way. El Desperado is also taunting Shingo on twitter, having taken the NEVER belt hostage.

Perhaps 8 or so with everyone facing each other once.

More I think about it, more I am cool with EVIL as a top heel. I do wonder what happens when KENTA and Jay are back, since those two were top of the Bullet Club, but who knows when that'll be, given Covid?

My perception of KENTA when he joined the group was that he'd be filling the #2 spot, and mostly fighting for the NEVER and potentially US titles. Like Ishii or ZSJ, he's still a credible challenger for the heavyweight belts. No group has two "Aces," though, so I don't believe Jay White and EVIL can coexist for long. Certainly not in a faction like Bullet Club.

So Evil won? I was watching the show late last night and fell asleep during the main event. I just figured Naito would win so didn't bother to rewatch the match this morning.

A man in a BUSHI mask and a LIJ jersey attacked Naito before EVIL hit Everything is EVIL for the 3. The fake BUSHI unmasked to reveal himself as Dick Togo. Who is now EVIL's new "PAREJA" and official manager.

And if the wrestling powers that be love me, Takagi ain't getting it back.

My Bullet Club shirt is getting pretty worn out and I want to replace it with this.

His new entrance video didn't have anything related to that which was disappointing.
