Most of us are Golden Girls fans, but was anyone a fan of the spin-off Empty Nest? I'd say it was just as enjoyable.

I loved all those shows. Park Overall should have been a star. 😊

I enjoyed it, though I haven't seen it since I was a little kid. Also, I remember thinking his neighbor reminded me of Lex Luger for some reason.

Who remembers when Sophia Petrillo cameoed on Blossom?

I vaguely remember liking it but remember almost nothing about it beyond the actors involved.
David Leisure is always good so him as the kind of sleazy neighbor (I think) was fun.

There was one summer when I was in Jr High that I watched back to back episodes of Empty Nest every morning before I went outside for the day. I loved that show

I still love that the Golden Girls effectively had their own cinematic universe decades before Marvel.

The nurse sounded like she smoked about two packs of Marlboro Red's everyday.

Few years back LAFF showed 4 hours of Empty Nest every weekday. Managed to see most of the run for the first time since it originally aired. Decent show. Like that we get two members from Soap on the show.

I've never seen it but I certainly have seen the poorly disguised pilot for it that has almost no resemblance to the final product.

I liked the spinoff of this spinoff, Nurses. Boy was that show the posterchild for gimmick retooling, middling ratings? That guy from Slegehammer as a villain to create conflict storylines! That didn't work? Loni Anderson to add sex appeal!

When I was a kid, this got played in syndication in the early afternoons. When I'd be home sick from school, it was like TNT for ER, then Price is Right, sleep, wake up, watch Empty Nest, sleep, watch Rikki Lake or Jenny Jones, sleep, watch Maury Povich, sleep some more.

Just as enjoyable? Absolutely not. Tremendous dynamic on The Golden Girls with maybe the most flawless casting of a TV show ever.
I did like it but I was young and was curious why the guy from the Isuzu ads was on a TV sghow.

I've never seen it but I certainly have seen the poorly disguised pilot for it that has almost no resemblance to the final product. Yeah, apparently it went through a shitload of re-writes, to the point where the actors weren't really given any time to nail their characters down or their lines, and it was a total disaster to film, so I am not surprised they overhauled it.
