I'm surprised there hasn't been a Harry Potter cartoon. It doesn't have to star Harry Potter but just be set in that world.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Hanna Barbara was going to to a KISS cartoon in 1979 or so, but after KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park was an unmitigated disaster it got scrapped.

This may be a bit of an obscure one but...
Having watched a movie called "Kung Fu Magoo" back when I attempted the reviewer thing, it seemed like at the end they were trying to make a new style Mr. Magoo series with it. But nothing ever materialized from it.

A Doctor Who animated series was planned by Nelvana but was scrapped around the same time Doctor Who was cancelled. And DIDN'T become Fonz and the Happy Days Gang as rumored.

I read that Marvel Productions was working on a U.S.1. cartoon in the early 80s. Even farther back, Filmation were going to have a Metamorpho cartoon in the 60s, but it never materialized and he wouldnt show up in animation until the Justice League cartoon.

Then of course, there were the one-episode pilots which never became series, such as: Herself the Elf Power Masters Computer Warriors Robo Force Bubsy Battletoads and in the adult cartoon category: Hollywood Dog (animation-live action hybrid) The Jackie Bison Show The Eltingville Club The X-tacles (spin off from Frisky Dingo)

He-Ro: Son of He-Man. A series bible exists. Mentioned it earlier in the thread, but yeah, there were actually two separate "Son of He-Man" shows that were pitched and got a little traction before making it too far.

There was also the planned third season of 2002 era He-Man which would have brought back She-Ra (they wound up making a 2003 toy of her anyway)

Springfield Tales was a proposed Simpsons spin-off that would concentrate on the other characters. Believe they wanted to do 3 shirts per episode and it was to be like 22 Short Films.

I remember having this special on VHS when I was a kid. Apparently, it was a supposed pilot to a series that never materialized.
It probably would've been a decent series, because it had all of the better known characters from the Little Golden Book series:
Tootle the Train Scuffy the Tugboat The Poky Little Puppy The Shy Little Kitten The Tawny Scrawny Lion The Saggy Baggy Elephant
And a few new characters to join them on their adventures.

I even heard that a pilot was filmed but the plan was scrapped.

There was supposed to be a Crash Bandicoot cartoon. Pretty sure the footage of the "opening" is fake though.
