Spain
The age of consent in Spain is 16, under a new law which came into effect on 1 July 2015.[119][120]
History
Historically, the age of consent was usually twelve in the Christian kingdoms of Iberia. A new Penal Code was introduced in Spain in 1995 which specified an age of consent of 12 for all sexual acts, but this was raised to 13 in 1999 and to 16 in 2015.[120][122]
(its 16 in Norway and 15 in Sweden)

Have there’s been any more tweets about Marty? Language warning. There's an uncensored swear I didn't notice was there when I initially posted, so I broke the embed. Anyone quoting from before this, please go back and break the embed as well, thank you. You think ROH is starting to regret that whole million dollar plus head booking signing yet? Honestly, AEW may have dodged a bullet, Marty was on their radar even now but if this stuff is true, it could blow up in ROH's face instead...

If you're going to basically acknowledge having sex with a 16 year old, you need to do a lot more to own up to that. Like, that's not okay and you know that.

Jesus christ
Ring of Honor's probably got a gun to their head at this point, and Being The Elite might have to edit three quarters of their damn video library, lmfao
At least Marty's head is in the right place? But admitting you had sex with a 16 year old, consentual or not, legal or not, is gonna require you to really do a lot more than this post man, that's not a good look for a head booker and one of the focal points of Indy Wrestling.

So, do we want to revisit Madison Square Garden and realize that putting the title on Matt Taven was the best thing they ever did?

Somewhere the Elite is talking about the massive bullet they dodged.

As far as statements go, that was not a good one.
Marty Scurll would have been 26 at the time. Technically legal or not, there's no good excuse for a sexual encounter with a minor. It's still deplorable.

So, do we want to revisit Madison Square Garden and realize that putting the title on Matt Taven was the best thing they ever did? In hindsight, yeah They have a bigger problem now. That man has the book and the control was in his hands. Assuming you get rid of him, you are now stuck in limbo having to set up a whole new gameplan moving forward

Kinda feel like this would be a massive blow to ROH, they were looking to move into a new era, Marty didn't even get started with the book, and now ROH might be out a lot of money and their head booker they were looking to make a franchise player and turn their brand around.

If nothing else Marty looks insanely creepy. Like others have said i don't care if the age of consent is 16 if you are a grown ass man you do not have sex with someone who is not 18. Not even if Marty was 20 or 21, but the fact he was 26?
When the best case scenario is saying you had consensual sex with a drunk minor that is still not good Marty

Yeah, the Marty era never really began as they gave him the book right before the pandemic. If they sack him now, they avoided several months of Marty being positioned as a top babyface of both RoH and NWA (since the Aldis vs. Scurll match for the NWA title was set to main event the Crockett Cup show).

If it's the same accusation from yesterday: drunk people can't consent, Marty!

You know it's never a good sign when they justify something really gross as technically legal.

From a purely legal perspective, what could ROH do at this point? Putting morals aside, Marty hasn't been accused of anything illegal and has yet to have a chance for his performance as a booker to have any effect so I can't see that there's any way they could wriggle out of it.
